For me, it's a blast through the forest on my mountain bike with my iPod cranked. I get my best ideas that way and come back focused and psyched up.
Besides being stimulated by yours surrounding your also getting a nice does of endorphins from the physical effort. Which are known to produce feelings of self esteme. I've recently started excersising after 28 years of being a lazy bastard and I feel great. I'm back on the smoke after stopping on the 9th August and christ do i feel stoned. Wrote 3 tracks (that are being released at the end of the month) in that period BUT i had to smoke last Wednesday to get out of a creative dedlock regarding my live set. I told myself i'd stop until December so i didn't smoke Wednesday without weighing it in my mind. What can i say it worked a trick, within two hours i had the whole thing crystalised in my mind, music and how it was going to done. I'm road testing tonight in Dublin, send me mindbeams of support

Think there's a correlation between drug/alcohol abuse, creativity, professionalism, and long-term health problems? Probably.
I stick with my original post. In my opinion, true creative talent and professionalism don't require mind-altering substances.

You can say what you want about weed. I have read more books as a potsmoker. Then i did in sober periods.
I felt like a dumbass before i started smoking too. Now i'm just an intolerable smartass
I'm not saying that smoking pot will make you smarter.
But that you become a dumbass because of smoking pot.... Thats just plain silly...
