It was supposed to be a parody on all the america bashing threads... now either you all got it and are playing along... if there are - god forbid - anyone who hasn't gotten it... sorry.
What's to get, there is nothing in your original post that suggests sarcasm and it appears to be most dependent on knowing who you are. The only thing I know about you is your first post. I believe the sarcasm and parody talk is actually the sarcasm. Now that's ironic.

I myself didn't understand why people voted for Bush the first time and I have zero respect for those who would vote for him now if they could (well, at least not much more respect than I have for any human being because he/she's human). I'm angry, too. But, as Ghandi said, "nothing enduring can be built on violence".
In our defense, Bush stole both elections through various forms of vote rigging, not that plenty of people didn't vote for him, but at least I can point this out!

Oh by the way... did you know Ableton is probably going to add a burning flag on their splash startup screen? - they've even posted a vote...
I thought that was your intention, but parody and cariacature in a medium like a textual forum (which has no real nuance to indicate irony) is doomed to fail unless you make it quite obvious.
I don't think many people here realised it was an attempt at irony, both sides (the Herbal Warriors and the American Eagles) seem to reflexively react to anything which looks like 'the other side'.
If either camp is likely to be involved you need 24 point bold text saying 'this is a joke' or they will simply press 'launch' as they have been programmed to do.
I meanwhile, remain loyal to Oceania
dry, deadpan humor does not translate well on forum posts

It is an understandable reaction. The US is fast emerging as the Fourth Reich, the people of the US are sleepwalking into a police state and Canadians know there is nothing they can do. So humor becomes a refuge.
