You say the same thing about Live.
well, first of all I use live in a very simple way, and that is using the session view to record audio clips always quantized to the bar. So when I bought live 5.0 as soon as it dropped, on the strength of my experiences with 4.14 - well naturally I was less then amused that it took them until 5.03 to address the UnEvEn loops bug. Rendering live5 useless for all those months, useless for my simple but very specific uses - and hardly esoteric uses at that. Well actually, you could use it....but you'd have to do double, triple, quadruple (etc) takes - In no way could you call it on the fly.
Second of all, native instruments arent recording environments, or sequencing/arranging environments like LIVE - for the most part, if not entirely, they are all instruments...but reaktor probably is a grey area there.
Thirdly - ableton's reputation was GOLD until I paid the entrance fee, and had to wait many, many months for the show I was promised - at that stage I'm not a new user who can excercise caution. With NI , I can....its not like I look at their slew of new toys thinking to myself "ahh well, the upgrade cost isnt that much"....whereas with live I end up rationalising things like that, just like with live six...I'm dreading a re-run of my live 5 experience....but its just a 99 euro upgrade, for the dual core support...and besides I've now got 5.2 should live 6 give me shit. None the less, as a consumer with no brand-loyalties I reserve the right to expect to receive the product I pay for in less then 6 months after payment. i.e. not a repeat of live 5.0 - 5.03
thats why I made sure to specify "as a new user" - meh, what am I doing explaining myself, you were just trying to be contrary for the sake of it.
lol...coming from the guy who was cursing ableton only a day or two ago...and it didnt take much to get you started either

boohoo you couldnt transfer an operator license as straight-forward as you liked.....I couldnt even use the fuckin software to achieve one of its most basic advertised functions for endless months.
