Well the best DJ ive ever seen is Aphex Twin you never know what sort of stuff hes going to play but I must have caught him on a good day the first time i saw him DJ, he bascically played his whole catalogue of tunes from old to new. And that was the time when the album Druqs was first coming out so i was hearing his new tunes for the first time live which was amazing.

I think its almost better to be all business when you're playing, a lot of DJ's get a little to excited and their set peaks and then they lose it because they got too hyped. I saw digweed a couple weeks ago, and that guy could play a party for 8 hours and be on point the whole time. You're in that position to entertain the crowd, and having a little too much fun is a bit selfish. But thats just me. I guess for every DJ there is a personality, or lack there of.

i was wonder why nobody mentioned Nu-Mark or Cut-Chemist. Their job with J5 is huge, not to mention masterpieces such as Blend Crafters, with Pomo.

Pure geniality.

and to the above poster, let dj sneak know he is not a real dj cause of his name, hahahaha.

I said one of MY rules for a "good" DJ.... not a "real" DJ. Someone can be a real DJ, and I still think they suck because they play music I hate.

I wouldn't listen to DJ Sneak if my life depended on it. To begin with, I don't even know who that is.... and I don't care. I know from the name that he doesn't play music I care about. That's the whole point about my little DJ rule. It's just a rule that I have discovered over many years in the dance music scene. I have never liked anyone who actually uses DJ in their name. They just never play anything I want to hear. But that's just me.

Truthfully, I am at the point now where unless it is either Sasha or John Digweed playing...... I really couldn't give a rats ass. I'll get a flight to see either of them. I won't drive 10 minutes downtown to see anyone else. Zabiela played here last night.... and I really couldn't give a shit.
uh oh - DJ Dan's was in the TOP 5 of 100 dj's for I think BPM - the only non progressive / trance dj and the only US DJ for that matter - which by default makes him the US best DJ

and he has a DJ in front of his name

I was just listening to a DAN set and I must say - he's amazing. His programming, track selection and little tricks here and there make him my favorite dj hands down, easy

Him and Donald

I could be bias though

Just give me Sasha or Digweed, and I'm happy. Anyone else is like buying generic.

He traditionally never called himself DJ Sasha. That whole website title was just to distiguish from some some German pop star named Sasha, and people were getting them confused.

Check out any of his promotional stuff.... like Flyers, ticket sales websites, and you'll just see Sasha.

Is it DJ Sales Dude, or DJ Boob?
I go by the name DJ Pink Tu-Tu.

Im amazed that nobody mentions Laurent Garnier
cauz in the technical aspect of joining two record as one, he is one of the best in the world. Telling a story for 5 hours going from techno to deephouse to chicago to detroit he is still the best I've ever heard in this world. And dropping the right records at the right time same story.
I've gotta admit that the eclectic voyage he has been on for the last 2 years or so does not do it for me; but the man is truly one of the best dj's in the world.
Dj Ripperton (LazyFatPeople) is coming awfully close these days in achieving those same qualities.
Stacey Pullen pulls some nice rocking sets too
And Rolando (ex- UR) is like a true machine when you see him mix, flawless and awesome;
pretty banging tho :D
