I'm too busy making money to change my sig

I don't understand all of this. Don't want it? Can't afford it? Don't buy it. It doesn't get any simpler than that (no pun intended!)

Does your current version stop working just because you don't buy the latest version? I didn't think so.

Economics 101 - supply and demand. If the upgrades/add-ons are overpriced, nobody will buy them.

No, for a lot of people it's:

"want it, just can't afford it, or think it's over-priced."

I still want a Corvette... can't afford it, so I make do with my Toyota and my bicycle!

And if Live 6/Sampler/etc is overpriced, it won't sell. It will balance itself out. Supply and demand.

More or less the supply and demand aspect is what I think will win out.

I just think (as do many others apparently) if it was priced a bit cheaper, they would ultimately make more money than at the current price of $200. Too late now though

I think the corvette example is not quite accurate to the way we are thinking of this. Instead, imagine that you COULD afford a corvette, but if you want the (arguable) better stick shift transmission versus the stock automatic, it would cost you another $10k. You can certainly see the benefit of the stick shift and would really like it, but it's too expensive (in your mind) for what it ultimately adds. Of course for some diehard corvette fans, they will do anything to have all the bells and whistles, regardless of the cost. But for the rest of their customers, the cost is harder to justify, regardless of how bad they want it, or the benefits it might have over other third party (non-OEM) transmissions. Especially as third party transmissions typically are better performing/more feature laden for the same price.

Sampler should be part of the Live 6 upgrade!

I cant aford the curent price, so even though I had the money to upgrade to Live 6, I couldnt aford the discount on the sampler.

I seriously think it should be included in v6, and rather pay some extra for the upgrade.

If it was 99,- I might consider it some time around december!

Good points. But if I felt the manual transmission was overpriced, I wouldn't buy it. Or if I wasn't able to afford it, I couldn't buy it. But if I was really determined to have it, I'd get some more gigs/work to pay for it.

You're right about the $99 pricing potentially being more profitable, but only if the Abes were able to sell more than twice as many than those at $199.

I think that's just what most of us are trying to get across in this thread. Just making it clear to Ableton that there's a LOT of people who are only not getting Sampler because they feel it's a bit too expensive. Obviously a subjective and personal decision.

I wouldn't go manual OR automatic. I'd go for Six-Speed Paddle Shift with Automatic Modes - best of both!
