This thread tipped me over the edge. Just ordered it. Every time I go back to the demo and I try a different bank of patches, there goes another hour.
I am always interested in everyone's opinions until I try it myself. After that, and if I really like it, I stop paying any attention to anyone who disagrees

I think Zebra will get snapped up like Absynth did...who knows maybe even by NI. Truly outstanding piece of kit.

NO NO NO NO NO!!! Urs used to work for others and switched to work for himself. I don't think he'll go back to being just an employee. He has great products, good distribution, and a positive audience. Stay independent Urs!

Simple thing really. Urs lets anybody who has expressed interest in Zebra and his other products, and desires to, make presets. Out of the thousand or so, there will inevitably be a large percentage of merely decent ones.
Compare that MX4, and you'll notice that they actually hire people to make their patches.
If you cannot make your own synth patches, and actually believe a simpler synth like MX4 is capable of a wider variety of sounds, sounds better etc. then why not just use romplers?
To me anyway the included presets are just starting points, that's all.
Besides, MX4 has a dongle, Urs is a great guy actually, an interesting an unique person. I feel quite sure that in my world, giving my hard earned cash to somebody who doesn't use an invasive and personally offensive form of copy protection, who offers $20 upgrades to new versions, and free UB's etc. is the better choice.

It's the "buy now" link in the upper right corner of
here. The direct link has brackets in it and I don't know how to do that (if you can) with the formatting here.

Judging by the success of this thread I reckon next month Urs will lying back on his hammock swinging slowly between the palm trees, sipping champagne and waving across to a beautiful girl who's standing on the deck of his yacht which is anchored in the archipelagos blue sea bay... of course his lappy will be close at hand to answer support calls and he'll have his sword and wooden leg at hand to deal with any pirates

so let me get this straight, if you are American its $169 if you are Australian its $243.36. Put this transaction through a currency converter and Aussies are paying more than anyone else. Thats not right, what gives?
