Sorry to ask, Mac Newbie here....
Are you waiting Rev B to fix some problems on MBP or simply because you expect more CPU power?
I'm on the edge of buying and still can't decide what to do...

The pro is going to be updated very soon and I expect some redesign concerning overheating. Besides, rumours now say it will have better gfx card, faster combo and FW800 on all models.

Thanks. So MBP a part overheating hasn't gotten into RSS problems of some kind...just in case I decide now.... even if it seems more likely better to wait. Didn't we run the risk to have another Rev A ? (new CPUs.... new Motherboard)...

Fact is we're not waiting for super-dooper fantasy-realms technology to be put into our macs. We're waiting for the technology in-line with what PC users are able to enjoy to be implemented. I dont think thats too much to ask for, and I do think its worth waiting for.
Yes, the macs now are good. But then again so are the dothans, and theyre practically obsolete now thanks to core2. PLUS 2nd hand macbooks are going to be so very very cheap when the better model comes out, so if they are all that good waiting a couple of months seems like a hellova plan...

Exactly... except that all rumours point out the update may be as soon as this or next week. This is the main reason I am waiting, not more power but a good revision B product with all the quirks ironed out.
The current MBP is hot as hell and has lid bending problems in all the ones I've seen in a shop. Yeh, I know it may be cosmetical but it bugs me in a 2000€ machine. I expect the magnetic latch update to match the MB latch system that works so well.
