If you want to see something that'll take your breath away live, check out Jamie Lidell. You should be able to find clips of his live performances around the web....

yeah, lidell is great.
I'm not a huge fan of his style, but as a live performance it's pretty tight.
if you ever get a chance to see Charles Cohen play
http://www.voicenet.com/~ccohen/, that's my idea of *really* good live electronic music. Not really all that exciting to watch, but everything is %100 live, and he's just ultra fluent on his gear. Of course, how the show saounds depends on who he's playing with, but if you get a chance to see him solo it's *always* amazing. Crazy proto-techno stuff... and all buchla music easel layered with a synced loop delay.

If you guys dig this you should seriously consider working on a pro audio sales floor. You'll get 10 hours a day of that.
Not my cup of tea, but it's sorta cool to see some kid ride a Radium 49 like he's riding a skateboard. Plus, anything that sounds vaguely like the Atari game Yar's Revenge is worth a listen.
I like noise freak outs, but you can still do that and play a song at the same time. I finger drum a lot and what's really hard to do is play a steady + slightly complex beat for a couple minutes.

I dunno, for me it's like watching a turntabalist- I luv it for about 15 minutes but then I'm done. I'd rather be on the dancefloor, voting with my feet, occasionally glance over at the live PA and smile when I see 'em getting into it. So my vote is for song structure, well executed trax and listenability over performance, pure technical mastery and novelty.
Guess that's why I never got into free jazz either, ugh, and where is that stuff now? Hmm...
