Sure but to claim things you obviously don't even know, you have time...
And hardware doesn't have the restrictions of software and the point is ?
You really get the point of the advantage of Sampler's concept.

What..it took you an hour for that ?

Weak as piss as we say in Newcastle.
You must do better than that grasshopper...a

doesn't make what you say sound any cleverer. Go back read the whole topic from the beginning and stop arguing with me for arguments sake.
Very disappointing. Crap debate, next time don't waste mine.
Bye Bye.

Like the EXS24's Import Multiple Samples-Chromatic feature.
Right-click in the key zone editor and select distribute samples

But you already knew that...
That doesn't seem to do what I described. I drag in a bunch of samples into the Zone Editor, select "ditribute zones equally" but it put all samples accross all keys, not one sample per key.
Non-comprendy my Dansk friend. What am I doing wrong?

Works for the 'vel' view but not for 'Key'. Have sent Ableton Support a message about this.
Ah! So this is a bug, then? Cos its really holding me back. I'm making my patches in Logic/EXS and importing them to Sampler ATM.

Aha... welll... you aren't dragging in 128 samples then...
..carry on. (gets coat)

no timestretching (eh, the only place where you don't have time stretching in live is in the two samplers..).
Why dont we have this - it's already possible in live clips. Why?

I used the distribute samples function in sampler a few days ago and it worked fine. They were from a CM magazine Free Samples DVD, I think what makes the difference is that each sample had the note name in its title like 'Piano C#2.wav' either that or the root note value was embedded in the file.

I tried both reason's Recycle and live's Sampler in their demoversions.
Pro Sampler: it's integrated in Live, easy to create new sounds
Pro Recycle : better for beat slicing and multisampling
Is this statement approved by the Federal Ableton Community ?!
I want to buy one, I just need a few more comments of you guys to decide which one. Right now I tend to Recycle but maybe I've overseen/overheard something...

Uhm, I didn't know that recycle was even a sampler?!? Isn't it just for cutting up sounds?
Just checked, even the latest version doesn't load as a sampler, you would need to use reason as well... not a nice solution, if you asked me.

The distribute samples function works only with velocity, not with keys!!!
Don't know if it's a bug, but it's still here in the latest beta 6.02.

I've never tried it for velocity, but note distribution works just fine here, as does it for many other users.

Well yes, that's the point, recycle without reason isn't a sampler. I own reason so it is possible but I'm not convinced if it's the way to go.
My problem is that I'd like individual layers for each zone, but Kontakt seems to be a monster (in price and learning curve).
I've downloaded Phatmatik and I'm gonna try it out.
I'll keep you posted!

I've been having a lot of fun with Sampler, especially since I got a keyboard.
Like Operator, having it as an integrated part of like, unlike a VSTi, makes a world of difference to me in terms of playability and ease of use.
Seems a little quirky to still, though...I came up a with a cool patch and saved it. When I reloaded the patch it was not behaving exactly the same as before....
I'm glad I have it though...
