Yeah, That much I got...
But for some reason I thought you might be able to lock it to a grid in real time but still in very very small increments to get that glitch but wondered how that was possible in Simpler.
The answer is it's not (at least not as far as I can see) but in Session I can still mess with the Clips starts, length and Orig Tempo (+/-) and then shift through Warp Modes and find some weird and wonderful sounds.

that you can do with Beat Repeat.

Honestly? Beat Repeat does my head in...
You guys gotta realise, I'm a live-music guy (as in guitar and vocals and live-band production guy) and I just haven't had the time to really figure some of this stuff out.
I know it's one of those 'Oh! NOW I get it!' things but for me they're rather far and few between.
That's why I love these Tips threads, they give you great starting points to explore and tweak and mangle come up with the unexpected.
And really, there's not a lot of room for that in the type of stuff that I work on but when you find the space it's great coming up with something unique and live-a-fied.
And hey, jasinski? Your 'Rack List' ROCKS!

Yeah, if you spend some time with Beat Repeat you can find that it's a lot deeper than first impressions.
There's an Ableton video on Beat Repeat hidden on the Ableton site, do a google.

Here's a great tip from a friend of mine. A way of sourcing new glitch sounds.
Get a freeware audio editor, Audacity (Mac) works and use it to open files like Word documents, Photoshop files etc. If it doesn't work like this, create a new project (Cmd+N) and do Project > Import Raw Data...
A lot of data just opens as white noise, but you come across some real gems so it's worth it!

fatrabbit, i was just about to post that trick!
It's amazing all the different sounds raw data can produce! High frequency overload, and probably lots of aliasing, so have fun!
Here's a source for fun glitchy sounds...
Run Waves X-Noise, or a similar plugin, on some recorded audio. Instead of rendering the audio with the noise taken out, render the audio that was taken out. You get some crazy sounds messing with the settings of a plugin like that.....
major malfunction

do you want to glitch?
do you want rhythmical or tuned glitch?
take a track of guitar or anything other instruments/vox.
duplicate it. stretch it with warp and fool, crazy, times, with beat algorithm if you want a rhythmical glitch, with the other (not complex) if you want to generate layers, textures. you can change the parameters as you want, specially on beat is very funny change 8,16,32.. you can also play with the track, cut and enlarge or reduce the length and the effect changes and the glitch changes.
than put a gate on the track and select the amount of glitch that you want, if you want a percussive glitch you can select a high range of gate with fast attack release and a low threshold to keep up only the glitches. if you work with textures you can use a fasta attack and release but less threshold and a bit of hold as your taste says..
than, when you have play enough;), mix the glitch track with the other one and you have a glitched vox, guitar, bass, kick, as you want.
what do you thing? try before lie
sorry for my english!!! and keep it fun (if is a correct way to say
byeeeeeeeeeeeeee
edit: sorry i want to say with high gate threshold, you have to take just what you like, of glitches

this is a try that i've do now in one minute.. here in italy is night 3 a.m. and my mum and the others are sleeping, than i've do that with mac book speakers at softest volume.. but is an example of what i've describe..
it's the first loop that i've heard.. a cold chillin of live.. but really i haven't mix the glitched one with the natural.. are one glitched with also gate and the other a little glitched.. and panned -7 natural one and 13 the glitched.. i don't know ihih i've do with macbook.. but for me it's ok to understand what i've explain on previews post
http://www.subrecords.com/glitchytry.aif
loop it!
bye!
edit: in an extreme way you can hear more or only the glitches, maybe send it to a group, cut the bass/midbass and apply a distortion, a saturation or something like that.. and maybe a chorus to do that more "synth-like" (i can say synth-like? as synth..)

well, i can't sleep, and now i'm wake up and i do this shit..
is the same loop routed to a group with a cut off eq to 800hz than a bitredux at 11 with hard downsample but leave at 1, than a dynamic tube with 100%wet, 4.79 drive, tone 0.78, bias 20, envelope 167%, than chorus with no highpass (20hz) 0.06 ms (first delay) 7ms (2nd), 0.02 amount, 0.82hz rate, 90% feedback, 100%wet. group pan -8.
than routed to a group with pan -37 and a gate -9.2 thresh, -43.2 range, 0.22 attack, 7.24 hold, 0.22 release (woo the same hihi strange;)
than routed to other group just to up the stereo sound and compensate the left side.. this group is panned to 43..
i don't know, mac book speakers are good

:):):)
maybe is not too glitch for this tread.. you can play a delayed track just like i've do now.. i play the one in itunes and the other in firefox to check the link

random delay

it's great! a bit out of phase iihihih
http://www.subrecords.com/glitchsing.mp3
loop it! the first is the old, the second loop is with one group the other add after, not too much the other.. just to do something
byeeeee
edit: maybe is also great with a filtered/damaged resonator.. but now i go to sleep

)) bye!!

My way:
1) Route your clips to A and B Groups (Audio to: Sends only)
2) A countains - beat repeat, Erosion, phaser
3) B contains nothing, we use that just to hear our original samples with out effects.
The A group will make random glitches out of your clips
