Overall though, very pleased with it, it's taken the controller to a new level. Some of my plugins, e.g. Cameleon 5000, were practically unusable without manually creating a mapping file which is a bit of a messy process - now a few button presses and it's done :D

I once bought (and returned, due to bugs) KORE to control plugins.

It was expensive for what I needed it for (I dont need it's sound card and Live oriented features)

Now with the Zero SL and the Uni Automap, complete with the extremely useful 'value scaling' feature in Ableton for the faders and parameter feedback in Racks on the 8 encoders, I'm in plugin-control-heaven.

Once the odd bugs are fixed, it's gonna be the controller to beat.

I guess I should really stop bitching. Even having to switch between the plug-in template and the ableton automap is still loads better than what we had to do just a few years ago. I guess I can click record if I have to..lol

I didn't mess around with the new automap as much as I would have liked to last night, but here I am at work getting all kindsa of ideas for laying out controls of my fav synths/plug-ins. I hate when that happens!!

I did a template dump on the editor for 40 (Ableton Automap) and then uploaded it to 39, overwriting whatever was there.
Now 38 is Plugin and 39 is Ableton - i just use the 2 minus and plus buttons to switch template in 1 press.

Another thing you can also do is dedicate the left hand side to plugin mapping and right hand side for Ableton control in a new template called (for example) Hybrid Automap.
Basically, it's a template with the left hand side portion 'stolen' from Template 38 and right-hand side from Template 40. You'd need to use the Editor to do this.

I was thinking of doing the same myself to get the best of both worlds though I'm not sure it would work as there might be conflicts somewhere. Still, might give it a try tonight.

Question for you SL users and your new toy,

Could you list the VI's / plugs that you have working with AMU?

OK, here goes (the short answer is all of mine)...

Bass Line 2
Cameleon 5000
Blue
Albino
Imposcar
All NI (Massive, FM8, Kontakt, Absynth, etc.)
Zebra
Rhino
All Waves Diamond bundle
z3ta+
TERA
Cube
Phatmatik Pro
Twin
Octopus

...can't remember the rest

I think it's safe to assume it will more than likely work with all plugins, although I'm sure there will be the odd exception.

That's great news! Thanks!

Now I just have to confirm it will work in other DAW Hosts, (more specifically DP) cause I run LIVE as a rewire slave which prevents me from using VST's in LIVE when tracking.

Hey guys,

I was told by Novation that provided the VSTi plugin supports it that the display readout on the RemoteSL will now show relevant parameter text.
i.e if you're editing an oscillator which has a choice of 5 you'd see on the LCD screen the values 'square', 'sine', 'saw' etc. instead of just a number value.

Is this so?
Cheers,
Meio
