Mine is 2.0 - I didnt even realise there was a differet one until you said it

I guess you could only try

the people who've had problems connecting with their own drivers seem to use Bluesoleil

because I'd read about that I downloaded it and spent a while trying to trouble shoot why it wasnt working until I realised I actually didnt need it and just my HP drivers are fine

i somewhere read 2.0 is 3 times faster - don´t know if this is correct.
can anyone else tell me if 1.1/1.2 is fast enough for the wii remote ?
and what is bluesoleil ?
seems like i have no idea about bluetooth...

ah, ok....i thought if you have two bluetooth sources they
would just go *PING!* and communicate. so you need a
software running on the pc ?

Bluesoleil is a windows application to use with a bluetooth dongle.......looking at the acer laptop in yr sig, I would imagine you already have bluetooth onboard and so you won't need bluesoleil.

no, it´s wlan only. but there is a hardware-switch for bluetooth,
so i guess you can get it with bluetooth onboard too.

it depends - if it is on board your laptop probably not, but some people did report having problems

Everything is working great on my laptop now and happily the WiiMote has a pretty reasonable power-saving timeout etc. (I had to quit using my Bluetooth mouse because it turned itself off too frequently.)

The only thing that doesn't work is the auto-connect option in the Bluetooth setup panel. I would think that if I enable all of this, I could just press 1+2 on the WiiMote and everything would come immediately to life (instead of going through the whole connect process on-screen.) Does anyone have this working?

Also, is anyone using a passkey when they connect their remote? Any pros/cons to this?

Thanks OP! The WiiMote really is an amazing controller! I'm getting all kinds of wonderful Kaosspad-like ideas now...

I dont see how you would use a passkey - I dont anyway

I connect manually each time, I press 1&2 and then right click on the tray BT icon and choose 'bluetooth setup wizard" then the second checkbox down

I tried another way and it wouldnt let me skip pairing, then I read a few people out there were having the same problem so I've jsut done it this way ever since - it doesnt take too long and you only have to do it once every session

my Blue tooth is on the same switch as Wireless - I switch it on and it does both Wireless and BT at the same time - are you sure yours doesnt? Maybe your drivers arent installed for BT

yes, i am sure. when i bought it i decided to take it without bluetooth.

I got a bluetooth dongle (USB) on ebay for 5 uk pounds.......came with a bluesoleil disk.

I believe the passkey is specific to the wii box. So just skip it.

You have to do a manual connect each time - which is OK, if a bit boring.
It would be nice of course to be able to have everything preset and just fire it up.

I do occasionally get the odd issue with BT not starting up or wiimotes not connecting and so I have to start again, ho hum, but it always works in the end.
