lets face it a synclavier costs $100,000 if you have a time machine and live in 1983
also the beatles (well george martin actually, no relation to chris martin from coldplay) recorded sergeant peppers blah blah on a four track (i think it was a fostex x15) and serious amounts of lsd
also, statistically, NY gets more rain than seattle
omg too funny!

If they are talking serious dollars for an upgrade to 7 from whatever version I am passing. I don't care about the video capability put into it because I don't use it/need it atm and don't forsee myself needing it.
bug fixes, midi fixes, etc...for 6 would satisfy me for awhile even though some of these bugs I am not seeing/running into. Then again it all depends on how you are using its resources and what your system can handle for some of them (audio glitches/crackles/etc..). If it was going to cost me ~$200-250 to upgrade maybe. They get into the $300+ range they can forget about an upgrade from me. Not worth it in the long run for return on investment capital...lol

since Live 6 I have earned considerably more than the upgrade price making music for videos/animations
just so you know, there are a few of us out here who are really grateful for it

That's all well and good, a lot of us haven't and it's also (perhaps) not our major source of income. I do it for fun and to make a few bucks. I don't bet my career on it. I work in a different industry (high tech/computers) and do music when time permits (between work, band I play in and my own external stuff to do I don't have a ton of time to spend making music atm but hopefully once a project is done I will have more time for that!).

why the hurry for an upgrade to Live 7?
would be nice if Ableton ironed *all* the bugs out of Live 6 first!
I still occasionally get Live going Whummph! Bang crashing out of sight on OSX

And Live 6 is *still* very sensitive (i.e. can crash it!) while using some NI Reaktor ensembles, which otherwise can load/play fine in Logic Pro!!!
Besides, we're not really at 6.0.7 - some of those version numbers were *only* made to bring the various Live versions in line with each other.
P.S. agree totally, the current Live logo is *really* crap!!

I don't really see why it is so important to some of the people on the forum that Ableton announce Live 7. 6 is already limited for you guys ?

If it is a concern about bug fixes, or some improvements on the GUI, maybe an upgrade to a still hypothetic 6.1 would be enough. As for Live 7, the later it comes, the better it will certainly be...

I think it's more that many of us are curious what Ableton cook up next. The Cycling 74 collabo, updates for Live etc.
Even if there's no Live 7 this year I'm pretty sure there will be an announcement soon, as the Abes know people are watching this time of year. At least that's what I hope
