Here is a little known fact...
from
http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.jsp?a ... 4977060135
"Pink Floyd's debut, "Piper At The Gates of Dawn" [1967], was recorded at the same time as The Beatles' Sergeant Pepper's, and the two bands occasionally met up to check out each outher's stuff. Paul McCartney even stepped out to bestow his papal blessing on "Piper", an album which still stands today as one of the best musical memories of 1967..."

I can't pick. Radiohead or Neil Young. Also, early R.E.M. is really really good up until the drummer quit. But I'm biased towards them, I 'm from Georgia and went to school in their hometown.

Velvet Underground, just about every band mentioned here wouldn't exist if not for them appearing in black from the lower east side of NY while the rest of the country was in psychedelic flower power mode.
and fIREHOSE, for bridging the gap between straight ahead punk from the 80's and the hair music from the 90's and basically inventing what eventually became "alternative" music, but not getting any credit for it. plus the whole flannel craze was lifted directly from mike watt's back, again, no credit.

Well, PVD does have a better fist pump but he falls short with the arms out like christ pose, Tiesto is amazing at both, so sorry man I have to stick to my guns and say Tiesto is the best band ever.
