now that is what my first thoughts were to respond to you, but I thought about it and I want to contribute to something better, so this is what I have to say. fuck trying to be a black elvis or a black donald trump, aspire to be yourself and nothing less. ownership of anything on this planet based on someones color of skin is wrong, nothing to aspire to, nothing to be proud of. what you are pointing out is something wrong in our world and in our society today. don't be a follower just because other people do something doesn't mean that it's right.

here's an example

do you put your money where your color is?
many many people do that right......well doing you think only buying latino is right?
do you think only buying white is right?
do you think only buying jewish or indian is right?............
alot of people do, alot of people are wrong. you know what you should do with your money, you should buy respectable, buy honest, buy from somone who does a good job or provides a good service. you shouldn't not buy a service or a product from a black person because they are black and instead buy from someone that has the same skin color as themselves. thats bullshit and that is wrong.
but its done quite alot isn't it, there's no integrity there whatsoever in that ideal.

don't let what people do based on the color of their skin and music be the blue print for how you live or for what you aspire to because it's just as wrong. you're lookin at society and trying to make what you see the justification for what you do, fuck them that shit is wrong, be right on your own, don't let society decide for you what is right, because they are wrong.

That makes absolutely zero sense. By that logic you're saying that no culture should have a right to celebrate its heritage. No seriously...think about it. My mother is Dominican and you can be damn sure that whenever there's a "Puerto Rican Day Parade" in Philly...which is really a parade for all Hispanics...she's right there celebrating her culture. I usually attend the parade in NY where ALL RACES tend to show up, but every last race respects the fact that they are participating in Hispanic/Latino celebrations WHICH INCLUDES OUR MUSIC.


Why in the hell wouldn't you want to be proud of your heritage? Why does it make me an ass to follow in the traditions of MY PEOPLE? Celebrating your heritage is claiming OWNERSHIP is it not?

I HAVE NO ISSUES ADMITTING TO SUPPORTING BLACK BUSINESS. I wish a muphuka would argue against this. Unless we're talking about Sylvia's in Harlem, black business usually doesn't thrive unless black people support it. That is the cold hard truth of black business. Forget the cliches, "Green is the only color that matters"...nope...

Black business, especially small black businesses, fail without the support of its community. The same goes for Muslim businesses..Jewish businesses...you could never make that claim in New York. It's not that we're that segregated that we would never go into each other's neighborhoods to purchase anything...there just isn't ENOUGH of us spreading the wealth equally to ensure that our businesses survive. If you don't support your own first....

Then you end up with shit like a Pakistanis liquor store on every corner with a hair extension store right next door...that's owned by Koreans. We could get extremely deep on this topic...but we can save that for tomorrow.

I understand that you expect me to change my position that hip hop is black music. I've gotta ask you though...

How come no one ever argues that R&B isn't black music?

But a dude will argue his ass off against blacks claim to hip hop. I can see arguing against France's claim to french fries, but the last time I checked hip hop was first created by African/Carribean Americans right?
