Interesting, what problems are you coming up against for windows mobile?

There are certainly a huge variety of windows apps already, so some developers must have gotten round any obstacles you may be facing. Have you looked at the xda developers site? I'm not a programmer myself but it appears to be quite a hive of information.

you're a consumer with an attitude, I don't see a point in continuing this, there are people here who do this stuff for a living. I'll see you in other threads. cheers.

edit - there's nothing wrong with wanting the OP to port to your device, I hope he does, best of luck.

that bums me out. I need a new camera, a new phone and a new mp3 player. the iPhone is a gateway drug into Appleworld, I do not want iTunes to take over my mp3 collection.

Indeed.

I quite like the "windows shit" computer i'm running here though. Does a great job on Live 7 and likely sill do on live 8 too when I decide to upgrade!

Well, here is the main problem (from the XDA site you mentioned):
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/
We have to support so many diverse devices (processor speeds, memory restrictions, screen resolutions, hardware features, bluetooth stacks etc etc) that you end up coding to the lowest common denominator. If we only targeted the latest and greatest HTc device it would make our life easier but we would have no customers. Recently we have decided to abandon Windows Mobile devices (like we did with Palm in the past). Most of our customers have iPhones now and those who don't - want one! Hence I will be attending the WWDC in June.

You can count me out of that group of people.

whilst the iphone is popular, it's not selling as many units as my windows phone and neither is it as versatile.

I realise it's not to everyone's taste either but so do microsoft and they have acknowledged this publicly, delaying the release of win mob 7 by a year so they can address its shortcomings.

I think that by 2010, when it is scheduled for release, it will soon become the market leader and to be quite honest, you may well be making a really bad decision by dropping it.

It's up to you though, however, there will be plenty of people earning big bucks selling their applications even if you don't want to.

also, can you point your xda devs link to the actual problems you mention? it's not directing me to anything relevant.
