unfortunately no.
I am starting to feel pretty stupid over here.
I've been reading up on the padkontrol quite a bit over the past few days/weeks studying up to be ready for when my unit arrived.
I am running on live 6 and I don't see the padkontrol under the drop down box for control surfaces. I've read about the mackie control set ups.
I see that the mlr boasts now with mackie control capability.
do I need to program my controller to be a mackie unit, or is this already set up.
I really appreciate the help. (I am a noob to the padkontrol, sorry, but have read the manuals over and over) once i get this up i will be glad to make a donation for the beer fund.
thansk for the tip on the runtime. i would rather spend that cash on upgrading to Live 7 after my christmas debt is cleared. (probably near next christmas, LOL)
thanks again Mikes

Dont think its possible with MLR "out of the box". But thats the beauty of an Open source Max/MSP patch, you can just go in there and add this feature/Mod yourself...

The monomulator does not work for me (using os x), i think the problem is with the midi setup as this forum thread suggests
http://www.trackteamaudio.com/forum/php ... .php?t=141
I also tried the version choose pk and this one doesn't show any window at all. Maybe the easiest solution is to specify the correct midiports for padkontrol in some textfile before loading monomulator.

@håkan bråkan & dphouse -
New version up now, just redownload the files and use the one in the choose pk folder...This should clear things up...

thanks Mike, this thing is fookin excellent. took me a few days to get the hang of it, but it is such unbridled fun that a Monome doesnt look like such a crazy thing to buy anymore.
really, top work and thanks again. After so much whining (guilty as charged!) on the forums about the lack of tools from Korg for the PK, now theres a wealth of fun stuff.

how about getting audio from MLR into Live? Is Rewiring somehow the only way to do it?

.8b is the current version, Glad your enjoying! I definately do, enjoyed it so much i ended up splurging on the 128, ...T1mp made a rewire MLR to Live video its in the thread below, he uses a monome, but the setup is pretty much the same:

So, I'm having a lot of fun with this, but I'm a little confused about how the volume knobs work on the PK.
It seems like the knobs are supposed to send MIDI, which you then configure MLR to receive using the options menu. But, does the PK actually send midi when it is in Native Mode? Out of what port? Does it send the messages for the PK scene you have selected before you go into Native mode? Or does it send out some type of default?
I guess I need to read up on Native mode some more.... but any help until then is appreciated.

In Native Mode the padKontrol sends out sysex (a type of midi string generally used by manufacturers for their own specific designs, in case you didn't know). This sysex is then recognised by some program, in this case Monomulator, and acted on. Think it comes out of padkontrol port A.
I don't think I got the knobs working for some reason.
The x-y pad still sends midi, perhaps you can use that.

Basically the whole app is just a Big Translator so i dont see why you wouldnt be able to. To me the light feedback is pretty important though...

Mike have you tried using the MLR port in Reaktor with your app? I can't seem to get them to talk nice, but i'm a fan of reaktor's interface and i don't own Max so i can't do any tweaks of the max stuff...
