queglay wrote:yes they are pretty dumb for doing that, although i created a workaround for this. i get max/msp to take midi sync from ableton, send a clock through osc to reaktor standalone. i then route reaktor outputs from my soundcard into abletons input. the same can be done with abletons outputs if you want to use reaktors effects.
Hi there, I know your post is old, but still, how stable is your workaround? I suppose then that Live is the Master and Reaktor standalone is the the slave?
Second question: could this then allow me to sync up a second laptop on reaktor standalone giving the reaktor standalone on the first laptop the MAster OSC status and the second laptop's reaktor standalone the Slave status? We know reaktor standalones lock real stably tempowise on separate computers with no effort at all.
Third question: In my proposed two laptop example, then would ableton on laptop 1 be the big Master of the other two reaktor standalones?
Fourth Question: has max4live brought a possible workaround too, given that it uses osc?
Please note I am fine with reaktor standalone and don't necessarily miss opening reaktor within ableton as a plug in...
Take Care and Many Thanks

i think now it's a good time for requesting OSC support.
Logic got it in a minor update (9.1.2)
Imagine how fast could grow the whole iOS/Android thing with a proper and reliable OSC implementation builtin into live

as well as windows or osx, linux, that's the cool thing it work crossplatforms.

I'd like to revive this.
Yes. It seems OSC can be done in Max. I've seen videos etc. that do it.
But, I still advise Ableton to look in to building this in to Live.
I have Reaktor which has OSC support. The problem is that NI are basically saying that if the DAW doesn't natively support OSC, the VST plugin (Reaktor) can't send OSC to the DAW. So Reaktor's OSC functionality is useless without Ableton having OSC support. Basically, any VSTs out there that support OSC need Ableton to use OSC in order to record OSC automation.

Implemented OSC is the next consistent step for live9.
Thank you, ableton!
