^^^ iac bus is apple's built in virtual midi bus. It's part of Audio Midi Setup Utility (AMS) in your Utility's folder.
Activate the IAC bus there, you need it to link the clips together

As for the config file not loading, do you know how to launch farmpad with a config file? i'll check out the script tomorrow from a different machine to see what I need to do to make it run. I've tested it on this box from a different user and it loads for me :?

pm me with what is listed in the terminal above the -----------

i get
Opening config file ./FP_StepSeq.txt

Hmm.. I'm seeing this from work also, for now you have to launch farmpad with the config file.

farmpad -c /path/to/FP_StepSeq.txt

doc,

i must say, that is pretty fuckin wicked! I finally got some time to play with it for about a half hour and it is very nicely done. I have a feeling we're just getting started learning how to program such a nifty little device, it really is so much fun to play and incredibly versatile in the rhythms and sequences we can create.

Much appreciated, As I said before i'll try to post mine soon, I went a completely different route.

Nice,

you were trying to do 64 steps correct?
you can use the 2: *2 buttons to achieve this ;)

converting this to six will take over 1000 midi map assignments.

dchild got the one bar version converted to six, but I never got the set from him.
If i could get the set, I would set it up for someone else to do the midi mapping.
one time was enough for me :)

actually i'v done it more then once all ready..

Has anyone made updated versions to this? Perhaps a 8 bar version?

you could easily do eight bars if you switched the whole thing to eighth notes.

or you could do it by reducing to 8 sounds.

to do the entire 16 sounds 8 bars you would max out available midi cc's:

16x16x4x2 = 2048

16x128 = 2048

This means you would not be able to assign anything else in the set.

I haven't gotten into recording the patterns for live looping yet, that is the next direction i'm going to take it.

Doc, use iShowU for showing how to do the terminal and Live set-up. It's 20 bucks, but it is easy to use and works well.

Obviously, you'd still need a way to capture the pK.... :?
