It's not a good analogy.
Until you've had word from Support and ironed out any possible problems with
your set-up, just sit tight and try and figure a few things out.

Another reason why I want the latest version RUNNING:
Because my vsts an template have to be build in and so on.
Somebody who says, 7.0.1 runs, be happy must be joking;
How can I start working with the OLD BUGGY software.
If I refer to this forum for instance, having a question and telling
that I use 7.0.1 they will send me a big SMILE or so...
I dont have any particular sympathies for Ableton, as littel as
I habe for Microsoft or the producer of my toilet paper.
If I buy word and it is buggy I tell them my opĂnion about the
product.

If somebody tells me than, how can You say so, its a Rolls Royce,
and WE ALL LOVE our Royces, and the DO WORK over here, NICE for You!
My (EXPENSIVE) Ableton Live 7.0.2 does not function at all!
I receive no responce (exept robotic answer) from the producer of
this product and I wasted MANY HOURS!

Mate, you have got to call them. you did something wrong. IE, you rolled the clock back on a beta. call ableton they will help fix.
stop complaining and call them. because they have 600 thousand customers... and 50 or so people are constantly complaining about bugs...
the odd are definitely in ableton's favor on that one....
and you must get on the phone. and call them.
cheers

the problem was that I work at normal hours and I dont have my studio
at home. So calling was no opportunity yet, but obviously thats what it
should take...

If you don't have a possible solution to the problem than stop replying to this post.
Nobody cares how much you love Live.
They just want to get thier sht working.
I loved Live too, back at version 5.
So I upgraded to 6...Great, So I upgraded to 7... Worst thing I ever did.
They dropped the ball on 7 and left alot of people with sub-par software.
If they can't make it work than they shouldn't release it!
And yes I worked on the Beta program and watched as they released a final version 2 days after releasing the last beta.
Oh, And if you don't have something helpful to say than leave space for the more helpful people who might have solved a similar problem.

So Prof, what alias were you using when you got Live 5,6 and were beta testing 7 considering you had zero posts until this little intervention here.
Live 7 is awesome, works superbly and stably on my machine as did Live 6 once they had the first revision (6.0.3). How is the software sub par suddenly?
Just because a few people have a problem, doesn't make it a majority situation. Ableton have sold record numbers of Live 7 and totally were not prepared for the volume of business, so more sales is going to exponentially mean more problems, and a lot of the problems are down to hardware.
The software problems are still being worked on and for sure there are some bugs that need fixing but by the end of the cycle, it will be fine, just as Live 6.0.10 was the best release for me of L6.
If you don't want to be subjected to bugs, buy a ferking MPC or something and go the hardware route and box yourself in with a lack of features and flexibility.

Mate, I thing you have to take into account that the op went playing games with the copy protection scheme...
also, live has 600 or so thousand users at this point.... with less than a 100 saying the software is shit...
I am blown away, cause it works flawlessly on my machine.
but that is why I love it. if it didn't work, I wouldn't use it, but I love it, cause it just works so beautifully... that is how one falls for software...
when it works...

j2j,
I noticed in another thread you tried to share an .als file and failed miserably, admitting you're not a technical type...
why then are you motivated to participate in this thread ? seriously, quit blowing hot air out your arsehole, live7 works for you and you seemingly have no idea of the technicalities behind that.
Be happy it's working for you, but you're only adding to the HOT AIR in here by going 'live is great, I love live, its the bomb, it works, don't worry, ableton are good, it works, it works, ableton nice, yes'
you have nothing to offer beyond 'it works for me'

you want to play games with me, and tell me to blow it out my ass?
