ah, didn't know it was new. Strange to have a midi port without a midi implementation...

I think I got it figured out. I am going to send midi signal to Ableton Live from the board and run a few scenes. I will record whatever midi signals are sent by the board. Reverse the midi connections, sequence the midi recordings the way I need and play them back into the board.

Thoughts?

well, if they said the midi doesn't work, then it won't work either way.

Only had a brief stint as a light op with basic dmx/par cans, but I've played around with a frog 2 before. Fun stuff.

That was the Jands Vista but the ETC SFML does have midi that works. Will let you know how I make out.

I've not read the whole thread, but I just ordered a Doepfer MTC 64, to try to drive my own light show with ableton live. I will post here if I get interesting results.
