ok so panic over... i figured it out...

i installed the padkontrol editor and changed the global midi channel to 1. it was on 10 before as each of my controllers have their own midi channel to avoid overlapping controls.

how can i now change the global midi channel via farmpad back to 10?

many thanks :)

heres comes the need of making your own "benjamin_padkontrol_config.txt" !!!

you need to open the door, Ben

for setting a specific midi channel, I remember I managed this with modifying the default.txt, replacing every "channel:x" with x beeing the channel value I needed to set for the padkontrol...

good luck, and bring back some pictures of new species!!

cheers

the default config txt is always loaded by default when you launch farmpad, unless you type a command asking terminal to launch farmpad with another config txt.

the default config txt may be in your farmpad folder, as for all the examples provided

in your case, if you just want to change the midi channel, you can just change the default txt, so you don't need any specific command, just keep on using your habit (typing farmpad in terminal)

But I'm sure if you begin to dive into the configuration process, reading farmpad DOCUMENTATION and examples, you'll be soon making your own config...

then you'll need to launch farmpad with a different command, I don't have it under the eyes, but something like "farmpad -f /users/benjamin/farmpad/benjamin_super_config.txt"

I made a "command text", that simplifies the process, with an icon attached, so when I launch my live set, I double click on the "monstre jumo live set launchpad icon", and it automatically launches terminal with the command pointing to the wanted config txt...

I can't help you for this right now, but I'll have some time this weekend, so you can ask me for more help about this

EDIT : I learnt a lot of useful stuff about farmpad here :

And you can even automate everything so that farmpad launches with Live automatically and hides out of the way and then also quits when Live quits:

I remember I had to change EACH line where a midi channel was named...

I don't know how to input a general midi channel command line, I remember I had tried a lot, but finally had to write the specific midi channel FOR EACH pad, button, etc, in the txt file

just change the midi channel everywhere it is written in the default txt, I think you'll be OK.

cheers
