i wish i could! i am not tech savvy but when i last did my shopping for PC purely for Music appl (and this was at a Computer Expo where you get everything...and I mean everything!) almost all of the vendors backed off when I said Music Appl. While most said the Centrino was great they mellowed when I requested they put it in Black & White...but were ready to do that for the Pentium 4 (which I now use).

I use an Acer Desktop/Laptop (uses Desktop chips and configurations but looks like a notebook...17" screen). It's a heavy mother but a great machine!

I need to do some research on this CENTRINO thing and I may be wrong but so many vendors can not be. You say you have no problems and I believe I may not have too if I opted for the CENTRINO but I assume there is a certain measure where the CENTRINO may not do as well as the P4. It all really dpends on our usage, I guess.

Dj zed or is that Zero ?
This bullshit - you're only pro if you use Mac is a laugh.
My PC does not give me a single "headache".
Its as stable as any Mac I've used.
Live is Live and Reason is Reason and Reaktor is Reaktor etc etc regardless of which platform you choose to use.
A well configure PC will work as smoothly and and with as much stability as Mac that is a simple FACT.
Which platform you choose is fairly subjective for whatever reason.
Using your arguementative logic one could conclude that all Pro's use Mac's and are therefore rightly hustified to talk shiy about PC's.
Most Pro's I know are well beyond those sorts of silly arguements.
Alot use both Platforms simultaneously.
And most of them don't have names like Dj zed ,Dj bobo or Dj whatever.
I could afford a good Mac I wanted a good PC instead.
I will infact be using an older OS9 powermac for Metasynth shortly.
In reality people buy the system they are most familiar and comfortable with.
PS: My P20 looks as sexy as any Mac lappy I've seen and many of my Mac using friends think its a damn fine piece of equipment.
This thread was intended for legit debate.
Bad experiences aside on both sides of the fence I can;t say I feel any more or less "pro" for using either a Mac or PC .

I am a huge Mac fun, been using Macs for almost 9 years now makin music....but lately getting too curious about the PC laptops that arer way more snappy and powerfool in a direct user experience to me ...
What is a good alternative to a Pismo Powerbook G3 that i still have in terms of a design and usability -stability- hardware qwality and CPU power in the wold of
PC laptops?
would appreciate any user experience and buying tips.

Milka the simple reply there is either a Centrino or Dothan based laptop.
The IBM T40 / T41P and T42P are excellent.
Ok they aren't the sexiest looking notebooks arounds but you can get a 2ghz T42P w/2meg cache 2 meg max ram and a battery life of around 8 hours.
They are also incredibly lightweight and extremely well built.
I've seen a T42 in action pulling 60 tracks of Audio in Sonar which had me pretty spun out.
That said the Dothan or Centrino would be the smoothest and safest bet coming from a Mac background and XPPro as opposed to home edition.
A word of advice though.
Disable all internet abilities and don't take it anywhere near th internet.
If using Reason or Live it will still load and play aiff files just fine also.
