am i a total retard here? where are they in my library after install? what are they called!! what the hell?

no this is exactly what we've been talking about

the one wy you can find these ones is they have "(operator)" in the title, or as andrewbrewer said sort by 'date modified' in the browser

but I recommend creating a folder for them

cool thanks, but what section are they under, they are called designer drums but i have no folder called designer drums under either operator or drum racks?

its cool, i found them forge, under kits (duuuur) thanks anyway

I use those path columns quite a lot and that didn't occur to me either initially

if you're really tricky then you'll notice a little discrepancy with those sort columns when changing from ascending/descending depending on whether the folders are open closed

I decided to re-organise my library a while back, which was not a good idea. Partly due to all the missing samples I ended up with and partly due to it all going Pete Tong when Live installed updates for the packs.

So personally, I'd recommend you don't mess with it. Instead, send an email to Ableton telling them to sort it out - you should be able to move things about without everything breaking.

I'd agree, but one way you can re-organize is to make your own Drum Rack folder and then copy things in the way you want, thus leaving the regular library as is. I made my own folder in the drum racks folder where I put my own version of the drum machines kits and the designer drums kits and so on in their own sub folders. You know it'll be safe that way.

Be sure to check the Library/Clips/DesignerDrums folder and try the clips that go with the kits if you've not found them already, some good stuff in there.

Sweet! I'll have to check this out. The drums are definitely my favorite part of Ableton.

yeah that's all I did - I only moved ADG files, not samples - no problems so far, but yeah I haven't updated yet, but at the moment I have no need to - I was fine with 7.07 until this pack made me update

Its probable that it hit the fan when I went from Live 6 to 7, Ableton don't tend to update the Live packs much on point releases. Its not the end of the world either, I just deleted the library, installed all the packs again then copied my stuff in - probably not a bad idea doing that anyway after an upgrade.

Worth keeping a copy of all the ALP files just in case you do need to re-install.
