no, chances are it took Bitwig longer than 3 years. scratch that... fact is... it has taken them longer and they're not done yet.

no, didn't realize that a company who barely has a half functional demo out has any real bearing on an established company with a mature product.

You can't claim to be one of the number one daws and completely
ignore your customer base for 3 years. People are fickle creatures
and won't have it if there is a better alternative
not in this day and age..
don't remember them claiming to be one of the number one DAWs. seems like a weak or diluted claim "i'm one of the number one..." :|

define "completely ignore".

there have been posts on the forums, newsletters, there was a free amp sim for Suite owners, and most recently a 64 bit beta... maybe you made a typo in your email address when you registered with Ableton.

*shrugs*

H20nly wrote:^ yep. that's what i did. got Live lite 5 with an M-Audio Axiom MIDI controller... liked it and did a series of upgrades just around the time Live 7 was released. i easily saved at least 250 USD off the standard list price on the boxed version of Live Suite.
I got mine in a similar fashion. They had a deal to own Live for $199. Then I bought an EDU license since I would soon no longer qualify for ED discounts. I have 4 machines.

Someone new to the world of DAWs, Ableton's full price is not a very good value. FL Studios Full package costs much less. Sonar Producer is about the same price of Live and it offers far more bloat.

Live's Suite is way over priced. I could never justify upgrading to that unless it was $100.

Yeah, this sounds strange. AFAIK nothing has happenes with Follow Action in a long time, and certainly nothing happened in 8.3.3.

Perhaps he's talking about a Max For Live patch of some kind?

64 bit has been available since 2007 im not going to mention the lack of dual screen and wave editing that makes people resort to using logic and other daws.

with bit wig of course the jury is still out for what could be potential vapor ware but if it does
what it says it will and does it well i will be using it until ableton sorts it out

Don't get me wrong there is nothing currently available that allows me to do what ableton does for live stuff
but that does not mean i am at all satisfied with ableton's slow development if you are that's fine by me
but i expect better...

i think with all the cross grades and upgrades etc. i clocked in with a final price tag of just under 600 for a boxed version of Suite (which came with EIC2 and drum machines). still pricey, but i owned Cubase SX3 and that was about 900 so i saw Live as a cheaper alternative... and i ended up with 2 Live versions - 6 and 7... while i still only had one version of Cubase. you definitely got the cheaper deal with the student discount... but i got more 'stuff'

64 bit what has been available since 2007?

you could get Window XP 64 bit in 2005... but could you afford the equipment to run it on? and the list of applications that were 64 bit was even shorter than the list of applications that would run on a Mac in 2005 (and that was not exactly an impressive list).

64 bit architecture was available in the 1980s. so by looking at that date it took, what, 20 years for whatever it is you're saying was available for general purchase in 05? whats another 7?

i only mentioned Ableton 64 bit because while you're grumbling about their lack of commitment to the customer they are releasing a 64 bit upgrade to the version YOU ALREADY OWN... think about that... it's not a brand new 64 bit release that you have to pay to upgrade to.

ok so dual monitors. you got me  i wish it worked on dual monitors too. Live 9 woot woot!

Dual monitors are overrated.
30" and up monitors are where it's at.

^ no shit.

who needs two cables, two power switches, two plugs, and most of all two frames around your view when you can have one frame... with room for everything.

but you know... the other DAW has that.

Yep, it's greedy & inefficient. :P

I actually run 2 x 23" screens, which I find pretty handy. Sure, the 30" option is becoming more affordable these days, but when I bought my LCD screens, the 30" ones cost shitloads....
