jasper wrote:1. Recordings take track names instead of "00001-102a-Audio"
If the track is named "Bass", audio recorded on that track should
at least start with the word "bass". same with midi.

2. Hotswap buttons for samples and patches should take you
to the folder where your patch is saved, not the default devices folder.
Especially for samples in a drum rack:
If you have a snare drum in a DrumRackPad that's not a "GM snare" note,
and you press the hotSwap button, your browser opens up WHEREVER,
but it should open to the directory where your loaded snare sample is,
so you can swap it with like snares.

+1 on both of these. Awesome suggestions.

ENVELOPES:

Ability to typein direct value of specific point on a curve.

GUI:

Zoom shortcuts: zoom selection, zoom all, zoom selected tracks
Region markers to store several selection ranges and recall them through list.
Floating list of markers and region markers
Improved track scrolling speed when dragging something between them

MIDI:

Retrospective record feature. Wich is having all midi input recorded and then pasted by shortcut. Feature exist in Logic and Cubase. Very productive feature which also removes "red button" effect.

I know it's been mentioned before but there really should be a rating/favorites in ableton for effect/instrument presets, max for live instruments/effects, maybe even clips...

Also please make Live 9 more efficient. I love it but it runs soooo much slower than 8 did.

For a long time, I've had this idea of being able to use Ableton's piano roll as a musical score, where you can edit MIDI notes on multiple tracks from the same piano roll. So whatever track you are working on, you have the possibility to mark which other MIDI tracks you want to view (maybe a solo button aswell), and each MIDI track is represented by it's unique color.
So if you are working on the bass for example, you can choose to view the piano notes as well. This way, you can edit and get a nice overview of the tracks you want, just as a musical score in Sibelius or Finale.

From a composers work of view, wouldn't this be absolutely wonderful? 8O

1. Snap to grid automation in draw mode.
2. VST 3 Support
3. A legitimate transport bar with proper tools.

1. I want to be able to go into midi-assign-mode and then edit the assignments. Change the midi-channel for example for a bunch of those. Without having to reassign each one by clicking etc. (requested by pepezabala)
another request, back to 2010 for MIDI assignment edits. necroposting all these threads because this is a hugely important and basic feature that has been missing for far too long.

Hi, you could use CLyphX Pro and it's Bindings add on to write the mappings independent of Live's MIDI Mapping functionality...

https://isotonikstudios.com/product/cly ... -bindings/

Cheers

New user here, I've read through the OP's list and I'm disappointed that many of these IMO reasonable suggestions have not been implemented. Quite a lot of these improvements wouldn't even require any GUI changes. Ouch.
