can you control two applications at once using TouchOSC on your iPad? Lets say Reason 5 rewired with Ableton, And have Ableton preset on the page 1 and Reason preset on the page 2, can it even work that way...? :-/

You bet. No reason you couldn't.

Yes, absolutely. I'd check out an OSC app called MIDI Touch:
http://iosmidi.com/apps/midi-touch/
It allows you to create your own layouts, and incorporate easy 'pages'. Have one page full of custom controls for Reason, then click on a button and you're brought to your Ableton page. All controls are completely assignable with CC/MIDI Note/Program Change/etc messages so you can set up exactly what you need.
Unfortunately the physics balls of the Lemur aren't possible with MIDI Touch. Not yet, anyway.

Hey can I whore my new App in this thread? The app IS for iOS and it can def. be used for music related things
It will take care of snapshots of analog synth settings, mixer settings, gear to remember before you hit your gig, that cool record you see at the record store when you're broke, who you lent your headphones too, that chicks name you can never remember, where you left the lighter just minutes before you hit the bong, where you parked your car the night before. IT JUST GOES ON AND ON. It's called Finder Reminder.
I'm not adverse to giving out free promo codes to folks who have awesome ideas for feature suggestions, or clever ways for me to promote this thing as well

^^ You need to create the Reminder to use Finder app. I'm constantly forgetting where I leave my iPod Touch... this would be cool cause then I could use it to tell me to use the Finder Reminder to tell me where I left my iPod when I loose it next.
Seriously... All the best Mr Allan with you app adventure.

that is the #1 question I get with Finder Reminder... "WTF do I do if I lose my phone!?"
I tell them to buy 2 phones each with a copy of FR

You guys in this thread seem to know your Ipad/Midi stuff so i'm going to ask here what i've asked elsewhere but to no avail on the answer front
Either reply in this thread or message me.
I'm on a PC.
I've got TouchOSC up and running via PureData and communicating fine with AbletonLive.
I've even created my own templates in the Editor and got them successfully working in AbletonLive and can midi-assign and control knobs/sliders etc in Ableton from the iPad.
The thing i'm trying to work out is HOW to get AbletonLive communicating BACK to the iPad.
Have I to set Input Device in PureData?
Perhaps it's the MidiSync Outputs in Ableton that are wrong?
Or is this just NOT possible on a PC at the moment?
.. Until Oscilator comes out for PC
.. Or until theres an update for
http://iosmidi.com/apps/midi-touch/
(in the comments the guy says feedback will be possible soon.)
Can I use MidiTouch via a physical camera connection to a PC to get feedback?
Please HELP!
I'd LOVE to be able to create my own controllers that get feedback rather than just being able to control one instruments parameters in the likes of programs like LiveControl, Griid or Touch-Able.

as an afterthought,
can I use MidiTouch on iPad, outputting via Hardware (ive seen camera convertors to midi outs in vids controlling external hardware) into the Midi-In of my cakewalk ua-25ex external card and use midi-learn in abletonlive?
a longshot??

You can use Control and get feedback, but there's no Interface Builder at the moment. You have to write you own interfaces using JSON. It's not crazy difficult, but it's certainly harder than using an interface builder. The advantage is that you get -much- greater control over feedback than in any other iOS app (for now). For example, you could use one message to set all your slider values, another message to change the color of buttons, another message to change text displayed in the interface... any aspect of the interface can be changed via a MIDI (or OSC) trigger.

That should work. Here's a pretty darn cheap interface that works with the camera connection kit (I have two of them):

Believe it or not, the price went up $1.50 since I bought mine... still, hard to argue with an interface that's under $8. - Charlie

Just know that MIDI-to-USB cables are notoriously unreliable, and many don't support MIDI clock. This is why some of us are anxiously awaiting the iODock and iConnectMIDI devices - which will hopefully provide a more stable hardwire connection.

Brainwave Sequencer looks like an interesting mobile sketchpad with piano roll/step sequencer.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXtTliLLkfg
It doesn't have copy/paste or CoreMIDI support but you can save out all my sequences as MIDI files to bring into DAWs including all the changes to the instrument’s properties (ADSR, velocity etc).
