Doesn't get awkward at all. Actually, it gives you much more control and crazy possibilities. Lets talk about it when it will be officially released I'm sure you 'll like it.

Do the x-y pads morph the sounds like the KapturePad? I already have TouchABLE and love it, best music app out there .... If it does morph that would be killer!

Not exactly morphing but crazy parameters move yes!
Morphing parameters snapshots based on special quantization might be included (in the first or next version).
TouchAble XY pad and Kapture pad don't have the same goal though.
Kapture pad is a really great tool, we encourage everyone to buy it, it worths it

Just curious, are there plans for a custom operator interface like you have for EQ8? Operator desperately needs a good way to be controlled for sound design without mouse.

I don't know how many touchAble users own maxforlive but we have a really cool new features coming with the next update for m4l devices (also working with Ableton standard plugins), so touchAble+M4L is going to be a very great couple... We're going to post a video here...
