Machinesworking wrote:Jack, the point for me anyway is closer to what thug was saying, democratic systems with a decent struggle between the rights of the individual and collective are essentially the only feasible systems in these times. The difference we have is I believe the whole thing has been skewed in favor of the collective, but not the one you think, the internationalist global corporate collective. Governments have become mostly just toadies to these companies, and we have situations where if a country wants to finance some individual growth in terms of anything really it's seen as evil for taxing the collective corporate interests.
I've blued the parts I agree with, and redded the parts I don't. Ultimately, I don't believe that libertarianism, as it is described by most of its fanatics, could possibly work simply because of the fact that the vast majority of men and women—AS LOKI SAYS IN THE AVENGERS—want to be slaves. It is however the only theory I've seen to date that works from an economical stand point, which is to say that no other system than the free-market does so well at fulfilling people's vital needs. Talk to funken for more than two minutes, and you'll realise that despite his well-intended idealism he has absolutely no idea how economics, and by extension the human mind, functions. He may have read a fuck load on the subject, but he has chosen his books very poorly.
For my part, I may come off as a crazy ideologue, but I don't actually have a solution.
I do know however that when your country's best loved actors are stolen away by Vladimir Putin because your taxes are too damn high, then your taxes are too damn high.
Here's a picture of Loki making fart sounds with his hands, to keep that bitch Myrnova happy:

Well I for one have been extremely gentle and polite to the
fuckwitted libertarains on this thread.
Granted in general, but I'm not sure how the bolded part helps this point.

Vital is the key word here I disagree with. Electricity and water, highways, light rail systems for cities, and bridges. All of them should be handled by the government. Here in the states privatization of electricity made for rolling black outs in California because Enron was making huge profits doing so. Nobody should "own" the highway or the only source of electricity that I can tap into from my house, that's IMO not even right from the libertarian perspective I would think? .

Its like 1917/18 all over again, except that it's not! You are all as far as I can see living in the year 2013 in liberal democracies, so (both sides) please stop to pretend like your opinions are more than 1st worlders having to many resources and too much free time.

Yes, no, yes, people who make music should not have political beliefs. Or if they do they should not speak of them out loud. And they should not be too serious about trivial things like fascism.

(There you are, have all the fucking words you asshole seem to need to feel all serious about your discussion with that evil other side! I certainly won't try again to bring civility to a discussion on the Ableton forums. It's a toxic dump beyond rescue

)
And please don't PM me again, there is certainly nothing private I would ever want to hear from you!
Don't be too hard on funken; he's had a traumatic weekend.
He and Jack participated in a blindfold-name-that-cheese-contest. Jack correctly identified
geitost as
geitost whereas funken incorrectly identified
geitost as
snickers.

Ever heard of humour? And try reading the thread before you start picking on me and dragging things onto a downer.

I have no dog in this game, but if you insult someone you really really don't want to be making spelling mistakes.
It doesn't look so good.

Sorry but there was no derail whatsoever. It was the whole time about
Funk N. Furter, and when it seemed as if the attention might slip a tiny bit from this important topic you invented someone picking on you personally.
I was just collateral damage...

Well you didn't did you? You misunderstood what was obviously a joke and dragged the thread into a potentially unrecoverable-from derail.
You would have to see it THIS way, wouldn't you?!

Thought so!
You are allowed to PM me when we can continue this conversation in German on this Board of a German company...
what other languages do you know?

Come on dude. "Fuckwitted"? That's a direct insult. Back pedaling and saying your namecalling was just an innocent joke is super lame, but then again not really unexpected from you.
And if you honestly thought using a descriptor like that constituted a valid joke then you really suck at humor. (And if you needed someone to break that to you then my amateur diagnosis of you as high-functioning autistic is probably dead on)

Ironically the one (albeit probably unintentionally) funny thing you have ever said.

And the really stupid thing? All this from a single post were I generally granted that he had been one of the polite people in this thread and I just didn't think that using
Fuckwitted when describing his opponents was a good continuation of this behaviour... Ridiculous!
