8) 8) 8) Awesome! Pesky kids getting in the way...

On the other end of the cycling spectrum, I just finished the annual 120km/12000-participant road-race round Berlin and got a personal best, despite being the most unfit I've been. Got under 3 hours for 120km almost purely by playing the tactics better and getting in the right groups. And narrowly escaped two crashes - someone touching wheels in the middle of a pack of 30-40 riders - no time to react, just try to pick out a safe line without braking too much and causing your own pile-up.

I've only ever had the shittest cheapest bikes I could find.

Yesterday, I bought my first ever decent bike-

Already signed up for a 3 day cycling stag weekend and a 60 mile charity ride. I hope it's going to be the start of good things.

I am so sad right now. Moved from the cali bay area about 2 months ago to deal with some family stuff here in maine. Went from riding every single day of the year for like 3 years straight, to not being able to ride all fucking winter. I'm already gaining weight and just generally feeling shittier. bought an indoor "spinning" bike but it is not fun at all so i don't really use it. sucks.

Any recommendations for a comfy seat for my Mountainbike? I would like to buy it online. I will be doing long family type rides. So no jumping or rough riding involved. The one I have on it now is torn. It's gonna meet the trash can today.

I like WTB seats myself, places like jensonusa.com or pricepoint.com usually have good deals.

Just had a really beautiful ride last weekend, this is my buddy Pete filming with me riding behind for most of the trail:

ouch Maine..
I love Maine but Maine is only for Tourism and is not suitable for habitation during Winter.

I know it is summer now and your probably loving life but before winter hits again you should get a Pugsley! :)

Well, I'm in Maine temporarily to care for a family member who is very ill with cancer, and unfortunately i don't think i'll have to be here for another winter. When I'm done here I'm actually thinking of coming your way to Austin. I've heard it's a pretty bike friendly spot to live, true? Maine is beautiful, and I am loving it right now, but yeah, the winter is just too long and too brutal. I mean there was still snow on the ground here in April.
