I agree, but I'd give them a million chances to get what they want to say right, even if it means 1 win out of 10 fails.

With so many options out there I don’t get giving anything more than 3 – 4 episodes before deciding to move on if it isn’t doing anything for you, and I don’t care who is in it, wrote it, produced it, etc. Sitting through an entire season that only got marginally better. :? And hoping the next will be better. :x

The Brink. Utter shit and I don’t know who green lit that turd. I can only imagine it was based on who is involved in the series. It’s one of those shows that thinks quick wit is all you need, never mind the fact that the dialogue is  low hanging fruit and the actors are just firing off their lines like they aren’t even paying attention to the person they are talking to.

True Detectives. Excellent season opener. Really noticed how much the background music/sounds played a big part in creating the mood throughout the entire episode.

I didn't like the new True Detective that much myself, but hard to say from just one episode too. Felt a bit all over the place to me, I'm not curious yet about anyone on the show. We'll see.

Kinda surprised by SyFy's new Humans show. Creepy robot slaves, decent story and acting, curious where this one goes.

Maybe a little too much character introductions but I felt at the closing scene they pointed at how they will all be tied together, not taking their sweet time over the course of 3 or 4 episodes doing seemingly unrelated stories and then connecting them.

Thought the second episode of True Detectives was a little :? . Its having that problem where there really isn't anybody you like, but that might also be part of the point of the show, flawed humans and their dark side.

Finally checked out Mr. Robot, pretty cool show and some interesting characters.

Killjoys started out kinda interesting but is starting to go downhill fast unfortunately.

True Detective is starting to grow on me actually. :)

I started watching the latest season of Orange is the New Black last night... The rest of the season better be better...

but why I'm really posting is that afterward, I noticed a suggestion for a show called Scrotal Recall. it looked like the premise for the show was a guy going around making amends with all the girls he banged, not 100% sure but I'm loving the title. anyone seen it and is it any good??

Yeah, I watched the first episode and didn’t feel inspired to watch anything beyond that. It feels all rehashed.

Sounds like My Name is Earl for people who think Entourage is high art.

Mr. Robot totally threw me out of the story when the Cyber-security expert lady said "whats a root-kit?" OK I get that was an audience stand-in question to move the plot along, but I know nothing about cyber security and have at least heard of a root-kit thanks to that SonyBMG scandal a few years ago.

After ep.3 of True Detective I'm wondering who the hell are we supposed to root for in this story? The moral center keeps veering wildly for the 4 main characters. Clearly the intention is to bait-and-switch us the story unfolds. Good story telling, I'm enjoying it!

Anyone else having trouble understanding the dialog at times in TD? Maybe its just me. Loving the sound design/music though. During the "I'm apoplectic" conversation in the bar there is this creepy wind noise blowing thru the soundtrack that really has no logical right to be there in a pub interior, but, DAMN! :D

^ tis true!

@ beats, funny that you mention My Name is Earl in your response. I was actually thinking of that show when I was writing the post... I loved that show... I could have done without the season in prison, but most of that show was genius IMO

Just watched the first three episodes of True Detective season 2 and I'm digging it.

Definitely seems like much more standard fare than the first season, but something tells me that's intended misdirection and that something else is going to surface. My bet is within the next episode or so (halfway point) the script is going to flip somehow.
