The iPod Shuffle is a toy for people with downs who do their banking through the grocery store Coinstar machine.
And chicks.

Uh oh! Apple did lower than Wall St. expectations on its quarterly revenue, a lowly 35 billion instead of 37. Throw yourself from the tallest tower!

You know what they say
Selling countless shuffles to people-with-downs a day keeps the 2-billion-lower-than-expected-equals-angry-shareholders away.
...
...Okay, maybe they don't say that. It's a terrible sentence. But it's the truth, nonetheless.

Let’s not forget Cook is still excited by more products being released later this year. Plural. If it’s nothing more than a new iPhone and more retina equipped computers I am going to drive by Apple HQ once a week and launch a family of skunks out of a t-shirt cannon at the front door. There’s nothing to be excited about over the historically predictable, Tim.
BTW, Mountain Lion coming out tomorrow. I'll wait.

It's 0:15 AM. Too late to go to bed now. Mountain Lion could be out any minute now!

Someone on Fb posted a mock Apple video with a guy trying to be Ive with a HORRIE fake accent do a bit about releasing a webpage of Belushi & Glover. It was a huge unfunny pile of fail. It could've had potential but they couldn't comprehend the level of greatness that would make a good mock video.
I think even a good mock video would nod half of it's head to Apple while it's makin fun of it.

I think since I have 4 working Macs I’ll test drive Mountain Lion on my 11” Air this weekend. It’s certainly the most adorable of the crew, but the least used. It’s his time to shine!

Less than 24 hours in rave reviews about Mountain Lion are already flooding in. These must be from users who only use stock and basic programs. I refuse to believe Mountain Lion is 100% compatible with everything out the gate and anybody who believes otherwise is dumb.
There are also some small voices thinking that Apple has run out of big cats and this will be their last major OS release. The future will be all about small incremental free updates and a lot of cloud based services. No more major OS keynotes and fanfare. And of course the rest of the industry will consider a similar move. It’s a bold move if it’s true and possibly only one that Apple could pull off since they aren’t just an OS company. I don’t think Microsoft could just quietly roll out new features. They’ll still need to trumpet new names and numbers for everything to get people excited.

^ Microsoft make their money off the seemingly overpriced OS. Apple make their money off the clearly overpriced hardware. it's in Apple's best interest to just make their OS better for the (around) 5 products they charge a premium (a la hardware) to run it on... while it's in Microsoft's best interest to make their OS work with the (probably) 100,000 products they charge a premium to run theirs on.
they really are two different models, but most end users only see the GUI and enclosure. they have no idea the amount of tediousness that both companies go through to get to that point.
if Apple stops developing the OS beyond updates (for a time) then their profit margin greatly increases on the home computing level. it gives them more money to dump into R&D (iOS and other gadgets).
