I can only assume they are putting it there because of some tech they need to squeeze in. It really makes no sense to have it there. This could be a real mess for audio accessories, especially if they change the configuration in the slightest again, and they will.

Looks like it might be working now! Fuckers.

The problem seemed to be that I didn't have enough disk space available for the new backup it was trying to save....

There’s a serious flaw when it comes to updates and drive space. Let’s say I have 10 apps that need updating. If I don’t have enough free space that equals the total file size of all those apps combined then it won’t update any of them. So I have to do them 1 at a time and it magically works.

Also updates are all full files, not patches. So if you have a 1 gig app and there is an update it needs to install the whole damn thing when the updated code might equate to only a few MB.

The intellectual tech elite are predicting the next iPhone won’t include a number in its name, a mind blowing and bold prediction. And this conjecturer deserves no less than a dozen full length articles covering this theory, linking to each other, and siting "trusted sources".

So, app updates are delta, kitty updates are delta, but not ios?

Well, after some basic doofus research I found out iOS apps should be delta updates and if that’s true then the updating/syncing issue is even more fucked up than I originally posted. Unless delta updates are something the dev has to throw a switch on and they can’t be bothered. :x

I’ve also had apps delete themselves without my permission. And inconsistently install on another idevice I didn’t originally buy them on. I’ll buy an app on my iPad and it may or may not automatically install on my iPhone whether I want it to or not. :x

That might keep apps from being auto installed but doesn't explain why when you have it on it doesn't install every app you purchase.

ALSO, PAST VERSIONS OF APPS ARE NOT DELETED WHEN YOU UPDATE. THEY STAY ON YOUR DRIVE UNTIL YOU MANUALLY DELETE THEM.

OMFG.
