Bitwig had a box at NAMM for leaving them business cards and messages. I left them one saying they needed to get a forum up because we're 40 pages into this thread so we're obviously interested

Damn I would've asked if they have another name they could use. On occasion I might call it "TitWig" or Bi-Twig, cuz, you know, branches swing both ways. It's too randy, even for me.

As names go, "Bitwig" rivals "Fruity Loops" for sounding unprofessional, and even though Image Line changed their software name eventually, the silly name has stuck

Good point. I think Bitwig is more professional and specific, like a crotch toupee ie "e's gawt a wig on 'is bits" while FL is like "cereal? the loops are flamboyant? ???"

the product speaks for itself. I mean, how clever is it to call the DAW "Live"?? that's almost as big of a cop out as calling a band 'The The'.

I think that silly band names are cool. Silly product names are not necessarily so cool. As I said, it's a miscalculation that Image Line previously made. Weird how history repeats itself and people don't learn so easily from the mistakes of others <shrugs>

per note automation - that sounds like a wkd feature. gotta say, bitwig looks decent. first time ive been tempted to try a new DAW since live 4 came out.

Serious or not ain't a biggie, and the BW name isn't really a big deal, it's just kind of..."wtf cute"....LEGOMUFF......it's not bad...

Sure Live isn't creative but it say's what it does....or did....plus it was the first of it's kind so it was appropriate to claim the definition.

Some say it looks ugly, and some say the name is dumb. What I wanna know, what do you guys think looks "good," and what would you name it?

I like the look of it, and would call it.....Eureka....mehh
