I don't find any bugs or stability issues....

I just make music with my versions of Live. Is that OK?

I'm glad MY job doesn't have a forum where some of my clients criticise me in public!

Quite often I'll make a system that works fine on 500 client computers, but on the 501st it just freaks on something, and then I have to go talk to some gloomy employee of ParentCorp inc. , just to see what's wrong with that particular case.
Usually, it will be a surly receptionist. We meet and she treats me like a something stuck to her shoe, or a personal slaveboy who did badly wrong to make her life so miserable. She will describe in mocking tones how shit my work is, but be unable to give me even the slightest hint of what her exact problem is.

I am glad I do not have a public forum so clients like that can tell the world how shit I am.

I think anyone who criticizes Live 8 even before the beta phase has started must be obliged to post a sample of their best music creations. If I see that they find time to create great pieces of music (independent of genre) after all that moaning, then I shall grant them the right to moan. :-)

Care to clarify? I you haven't even participated in any beta tests in the past years. How do you even know Alex?

I'm sorry man, but now you're just stretching it. You can't be bothered to see if the issues that have been "haunting" you are fixed. But if something goes wrong, its Alex's fault for pleasing the investors?

Righteous Indignation.. It only works when you can back up your claims.
So far you jumped at 2 Abe's over stability issues without mentioning one reproducible bug. Shown you have no idea what you're talking about and are basically planning a "revolt" if your undefined demands aren't met for Live 8?

Really?

I don't know Alex. I may have incorrectly assumed he is Abes ceo or brass. If not, then I'm certainly mistaken. If i'm correct, my comments stand with a cherry on top.

If there's a version after 5.2.2 then my bad, but very late regardless yes?

Allow me to replace Alex with CEO. I accuse the top brass or more pointedly the CEO/s, of mismanagement. I think he/her has pleased the investors "too much" by understaffing or under-budgeting the programming/coding department and systematically relying on paid customers to make up for it. Now, it may be that Abelton's in-out margin is very thin and difficult to work under and they struggle to give us the best possible product as best they can. No matter, this is business and I still blame brass for that problem and I feel it is unfair for buyers/testers to pick up the slack. I loved v4, but something happened at 5>. I believe they bite off too much mixed with a wobbly rudder.

Geez dude..... I'm a patriot not a troll. I believe Live is much bigger than those who run the shop. It is all of ours now, particularly with the way the program is polished on the backs of users. It is brass that has to change this current 3 year MO. I have a beer for everyone else. But I also have a beer for brass if they get their shit together.

But, i promise right here to completely define my problems through the established protocols "if" I have a problem with 8. I desperately want to be wrong about this release and i'll even wait 6 months after the release before vetting it myself. Hell, I'll even buy 8 to do the proper job. I'll report bugs and log crashes diligently for as long as I can, but i'm ready for two things. Scathing relentless reports directed at brass for mucking it up, OR Abelton Live8 badges on my website, facebook and MySpace plus hugs and drinks "all" around.

Bro, i'm not looking to scrap with you, although it's a little fun since yer good at it, plus you have pull with abes :) But It pains me a bit cuz I really dig your style. All my hostility is valid but pointed directly at the top. No where else. Bless ableton support, bless the coders. Bless all contributors.

This isn't hate, it's love.

Damn, all my fave forum dudes are spanking me.

Angstrom, I have no problems with Abelton staffers. None at all, bless them, and I've apologized to [nis]. I have a problem with the dudes and dudettes steering the abes boat. My bad and apologies "if" Alex isn't brass. But ceo's and brass bare this responsibility and I will continue to hold them culpable for mistakes that serve them no real repercussions for it. BUT, when i'm treated to some personal time from someone trying to help me, I can say the opposite is very much true. Mixing music has its moments quite often. I'm gracious and respectful with all who take gracious time with me.The public nature of my thread is for abes brass but I can't say I know how to get or trust consideration in private with them hence the public protest of their MO. If i'm wrong, then nothing will come of it and no one gets hurt other than me. That's a good deal.

Anyway, i'm a well capable tech. 15 owned computers/OS's later, designing and installing a half million dollar digital broadcast facility "myself", dozens of learned proprietary OS's, and a dozen music programs later etc, I have never called support for help in 5 or more years other than parts replacement or a return. Mix that with current forum info and i'm on it. But as I've mentioned to hoffman, I will use ableton's protocol to vet my problems with 8 if I have a prblem that can't be solved myself. No rants without it, i promise :)

I composed and programmed this in Live5. Vocal and gtrs in PT. Pardon the quick fade, just trying to protect my friends.

Hi knotkranky,

Thanks for taking my 'threat' seriously and sending this very nice track. You can keep moaning! :-)

I wonder how much of this track is Live. (I listened through crappy laptop speakers)

LOL, nope, no more moaning from me unless provoked  I've said may peace, besides the 8 train has left the station so we'll see how it goes. At this point, I rather be excited. Being a pompous dork is so tiring.

That track was mostly done in Live along with NI battery and Kontakt. There were tons of abandoned tracks in live that were part of the experimentation/composition process that didn't make the cut. I did redo some re-strtches in PT with serato offline but the song was birthed in Live and half it's tracks made the mix. The main reason I did my guitars and bass in PT was because of it's brilliant auto-punch so I could cut my own performances. Cheers
