I'm always after the most interesting, textured, mangled up, processed sound I can find when playing. If that means I have to plug in to an old coffee can full of 25 year old dog shit, than so be it. I used to be a bit of a purist - taking a revered and delicate approach to my guitar and bass tones. I'm always after what I think works for whatever I'm working on.
I'm currenly using the Pod X3 Live > Ableton > EON 15s. Bypassing my Fender Twin altogether, and quite happy at the moment to do so.
I love my new Pod. The endless series of very well-done effects is what I'm currently after and quite enjoy. I'll then feed those into CamelSpace for more treatment. I appreciate going for the God Tone, but that's just no longer my main focus. Hunting for unique new textures is much more fun.
I do, however, only use the Tube Preamp as my amp model in the X3. I'm a bit of a snob about which modeled tube pre I use.
