No! It would take balls to start this thread in a hip-hop club.LoopStationZebra wrote:

not even a hip hop club, just anywhere where there happened to be a lot of black people.

It would have to be a hip hop club because the thread is --wink, wink-- about hip hop. If the question were posed to a random group of black people, that would imply that they listen to hip hop, based upon their being black, which is a generalization as well. On that note, I'm gonna hip-hop on outta here, I jst got Pure Data to work with my Windows Live rig.dredd i knight wrote:not even a hip hop club, just anywhere where there happened to be a lot of black people.

The problem with rap to me isnt cultural or ethnic. Here in South Australia, you dont see a lot of people of African descent (apart from the new West African migrants) so bad hip hop to me just means im dealing with shady white cretins. The problem with bad modern hip hop is the overemphasised bass, and all the cheap stereos these cretins have, come equipped with cheap sub woofers with 'extra bass' buttons that make it worse.
Its just obnoxious. Every tried to ask one of these fine citizens politely to turn it down?

You've completely misread my statement. The implication isnt that they all listen to hip hop as well, its that the racial overtones of the original Post would make it a much braver statement in that enviroment. Some would agree, some wouldnt, but it would take balls to say it.scott nathaniel wrote:It would have to be a hip hop club because the thread is --wink, wink-- about hip hop. That would pretty much equate to going up to a random group of black people. Regardless, I believe we're essentially trying to make the same point. I'm really sorry, but I can't help you with these issues. I'm European. We have our own racial burdens to carry. Zaire, Congo, whatever name you call it, it's a dirty page in our history anyway. Plus the rise of right-wing politics, it makes me sick to be honest.dredd i knight wrote: you can make fun of them with no fear of comeback...

BTW Obama ? black. He's a half-breed. Don't matter if he's black or white.

Can't expect to start this type topic without a fair share of "you big racist" responses. If nothing else we got to find out what other groups of people some avoid.
But lets get back to me and black people. Let's toss out all the other details and just focus on my problems with all blacks.

meh.
I just think it's interesting that people respond with a lot of 'what scares ME are white cracker hicks with banjos" comments. Bizarre and kind of sad, actually.
