Hi Kabelton,
please send your log.txt to
[email protected]
Here's how to find the log file:
* Select "Get Support..." in the Help menu
* Click on the link "Show the Preferences folder" in the lessons window on the right side
* Attach the log.txt file from the preferences folder, preferably as a .zip attachment
Best,
Jörg

..after many useless hours of hunting that bug...
memory problems are related to internet connection (wlan and ethernet).. without any internet connection everything works... really strange..

Are you sure about that? I can't believe the memory problem is related to an Internet connection. That's really wild! I have been having the same problem recently myself recent, I personally think it has something to do with the current Live 8 updates. Has anyone at Ableton experienced this problem?
Fortunately, the force quit routine works, but that's a rather gruesome way of saving.

i dont know if we have same problems.. my problem was that i could not start live 8 anymore.. it just useses nearly 2gb ram and didnt start.. after turning off the wlan everthing works.. very strange indeed...
btw. when i turn off internet and then start live 8 everthing works..then i turn on wlan and the ram usage of live jumps around and i have to kill live.

hey people, hi ableton,
I newly also get this memory issues! I have 3gb on windows XP, the taskmanager says Im using 2 gb, but battery3 is telling me it cant allocate enough memory when I try to load it into the set.
I got a new audio interface: the RME fireface UC. since I use the USB interface I get "visual C runtime error"s or "out of memory" errors
on live sets that dont cause any troubles with my old HDSP PCMCIA cardbus interface. is the USB udriver using more ram?
thanks in advance,
kirillov

Hi... I had about 1000mp3 warped for my Dj sets.. in ABL 7 it was no problem to open it... but now in 8 i cant even open from my old als file one warped track... because of memory issue. Every file has saved asd.
Actually i was able to open some older file with only 100 files. But all warped tracks has Abl 8 readed again like if there was no asd file. Im sure there are here.
Im really happy because this old one(with 100mp3) is ok and i can use this one...(dont need to learn all midi again)
is there any chance that i will have my old als file working?

I am on 7.0.16 and i'm having the memory problem. I must say i have never had it before, but in the past 2 day i started getting the error message when i try to export my audio. Yesterday and the day before it was enough to just save my project, reboot live and it would export no problem. Today it changed, i also rebooted my pc, shut it down and turned it on again. I keep getting this annoying message and i can't export my f**king track...
Is really annoying...
