holy shit 8O this is a hard fucking choice. these are all cool as hell. there are some talented producers prowling around in here. this is also a testament to the power of Live itself! some crazy sounds came out of that one sample...

4 and 6 have a lot of cool shit going on sonically and rhythmically, but i'm going for 5 for its sheer evilness. the mix is a bit raw, but it sounds like something i would drive around to late at night, nodding my head real slow, smokin' a fatty....

very cool stuff everyone. My vote is for #8. So dark and broody, with a cycle like a washing machine..!
I never heard the sample but you guys all did a ton of different stuff with it! Kudos!

"busy night huh, boys?! what's that smell? i'm going to have to search your car... what's this?!
well, i'm going to do you guys a favor, and confiscate your stash, and dispose of it properly.
don't let me catch you round these parts again."

listening over and over... you should seriously make a whole tune out of it, the beat is ace
superkudos dude :!:

edit: care to share your als? i'd appreciate that lots

thanks! i'll throw a little write up with screen shots together here in the next couple of days.
i would throw up the .als, but i am a resample/consolidate fan, and i often record the output of instruments to audio, esp. to save resources... and i made that little ole file amount to ~950mb of stuff  i don't have much luck uploading large files, it has taken me days to upload ~1g files in the past. i ain't goin thru the hassle, but i might could post the device(s)/racks...
besides, gotta keep some tricks to myself

btw, fwiw, i liked listening to all, but if i would have not been biased by my own entry, and actually voted, it would have been hard. good shit guys!!!

in fact, i was so captivated by the feel of your beat that i've loaded it as a waveform to see if there's any offsets
