Took about 10 minutes on a MacBook Pro. I did try nearly all the betas before the actual 8.0.5. release.

At the end, it told me that latin percution have been updated btw...
Everything seems fine. But that would be good to know exactly what is the official way to update ^^.

UKRuss, you're talking about a note saying that the suite user just need the normal live to update, where did you find it ? (maybe it's a stupid question, but I don't care ;)

anyway, cheers to the update everyone !

I took it to mean, in Friedemanns first post, that we didnt need to dl the suite thing, if we had dl'd all content already...

did I misunderstand? I'm gonna check all versions against Angstroms list and see what I got...

Yep, got everything as per Angstroms list and just DL'd the Live not Suite as per Friedemanns suggestion in his first post.

Indeed. Now it's clear.
thanks mate !

Edit : well actually, now that I have updated, the slpashcreen is the colorfull one, with ableton live 8, instead of the black/grey and white of the Suite version...

Alright... I didn't feel like posting back last night because I was making music with Live 8.

I started my install (Live 8 Suite 1.27 GB) at 6:30 pm PST.
by 6:33 pm I was authorized and staring at the Library prompt.
I decided to install to a new location so I don't jack up any of my L7 projects.
- hard drive space is cheap. projects are irreplaceable.
It was about 8:40 pm when I started messing around in Live 8.
Try as I may I couldn't get any audio pops and crackles. I was so disappointed. Thats a new feature right?

Maybe less than 5 minutes. It's not the Suite though.

I just downloaded v8.0.5, which was more than 1gb. I sat down to open the app and after asking whether I wanted to run in demo mode (?) it's now overhauling the complete Library, again. It seems to have installed Latin Percussion.

I understood the length of time and updating the Library when moving from 7 to 8 (I have the Suite 7 -- no Collision or Essential whatevers). But overhauling the entire this is kinda goofy for an incremental update like 8.0.4 to 8.0.5. Is it going to do this for every bug fix? If so, I'll second guess updating from here on.

Well I guess now I can play maracas and timbales?
