I am slightly saddened to learn that Dom is not everywhere. :(

I shall tell my flock that He is truly, not the saviour after all.

We shall never again sing the hymns of praise to the Dom.

He guides us in the forum
He guides at our gigs
He guides us in our lovemaking
He likes to eat fresh figs

He watches us in the shower
He watches us all the time
he rarely wields his banning power
He really is sublime.

etc.

One night I had a dream--
I dreamed I was walking along the beach with dom.
and across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints,
one belonged to me and the other to dom.
When the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that many times along the path of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest
and saddest times in my life.
This really bothered me and I questioned dom about it.
"dom, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you would walk with me all the way,
but I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life
there is only one set of footprints.
"I don't understand why in times when I needed you most,
you should leave me."
dom replied, "My precious, precious child,
I love you and I would never, never leave you
during your times of trial and suffering.
"When you saw only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

I have to say I've also felt a bit let down by Ableton support lately.

My problem report did include my Live version, OSX version and hardware configuration. It also had screen grabs illustrating my problem, as well as the original audio and asm files.

I have emailed twice about the issue, as well as creating a post in the support corner here. In which I did get a tad angry, but have all but given up hope of a reply. 3 weeks + and counting !

If anyone does feel like having a look:

I'm sorry but just like I couldn't relate to or understand the rants of a certain person I will keep anonymous and refer to simply as "Mr. X".... I also do not relate to those who speak of these huge issues with Live 8 versions. That is not to say that I haven't had a couple of plugins that I had to install an update to get working properly, but isn't that just kind of a given....that a host program and the hordes of 3rd party addons need time to play well together?

I played this same game with Sonar before I switched to Live, and people all over the planet play this game with any host program relying on compatibility with evolving versions of addons.

I especially get a kick out of people that make a custom computer out of an assortment of pieces from who knows how many countries and different companies, throws it together and installs the newest version of an OS.....then the latest Live and expects it to work flawlessly out of the box. We've all made that mistake once haven't we? That is, the "make your own dream system optimized for music" plan....however, we haven't all blamed all the resulting chaos on a single piece of the huge puzzle like a few people around here have done.

End rant, now off to play with music starting at 5 pm....not ending until sometime after thanksgiving. Peace.

I love the "Footprints in the Sand" and Dom is my Shephard songs.....nice to see a little Abe gospel preached here. :)

Added: This isn't saying nobody out there has a legitimate gripe or reason to need help from Ableton support, that's a given....and if things go without a reasonably fast response that's not cool, but my experience in the past has been a little above par with the Abes......but I have learned that being douchy with any customer service rep anywhere never yields anything beneficial to anybody, give respect and usually you will be given respect back!

You know, I can't understand why a lot of people think that software is going to work on everyone's configuration. I can understand frustration over if you use a popular configuration, like controller or audio card / interface, etc...

But I think users rarely take in to account the effects of the other gigs of crap they've got floating around on their hard drive. All that porn and AIDS you put into your computer is sure to effect it in some negative way.
I had a computer I used to dedicate only for music. It had 0 connection to the internet. It ran flawlessly. It wasn't until I hooked it up to the internet that I started to get problems. Most of my problems were from some crappy freeware plug I downloaded.
