Warm beer is more an urban legend than reality. From someone born and bred in the UK who lived there in many towns and cities during 29 years before leaving for Canada. Occasionally it would happen, but mostly drinks are brewed at the correct temperature. Saying 'all Brits drink warm beer' is like saying 'all Americans eat McDonald's cheeseburgers for lunch'.
The beer is a different brew to lager, which is what Americans call beer.
Coors, Bud, Miller, etc - all brewed in mass quantity with all manner of chemicals. Sadly, Nukie Brown also falls under this category, although it tastes good, and most mass produced British beer is the same. I prefer real ale myself, brewed without chemical preservatives and other run off shit. Such as Timothy Taylor, Marstons, Theakstons, Old Speckled Hen, etc.
If I'm drinking lager *which is what Americans call beer* then I prefer German lagerbeers, which are brewed under purity laws. I also like Dutch and Belgian beers, and wheat beer.
BTW - The original Budweiser (Budweiser Budvar brewed in the Czech Republic) actually tastes good as it is similarly not mass produced with added chemicals.

Beer is an umbrella term for all sorts.
You'd never be served warm lager ever though, it would be wrong and horrible. A lot of ales taste nicer warm than cold, plus warm drinks are easier to neck. If I want brain freeze I'd rather try downing a cocktail pitcher than cold beer.
