it would be a perfectly legit dicussion topic if people didn't get emotionally wound up by it - I myself wished we had macs at work the other day when we kept getting pop-ups and crap, but then I took in my own PC laptop yesterday and happily worked all day on it

can you use Mozilla or update the OS's to SP2 at your work?

they're still on win 2000 though and for some bizarre reason seem to want to stay that way

With that said:

Mac or PC does not matter anymore. I would not want to use a PC for music production. I have a PC at my day job and I would not want a Mac for my day job.

Mac users are a little envious of the tons of software available for PC. Mac users are a little envious because of the lower prices PCs go for.

There is fantastic software for both platforms. I don't ever expect to buy a PC but the OpenSynth (www.openlabs.com) has got me to thinking.

Use your tools. I love my Mac(s) and get plenty of work out of them.
I have pals that use PCs for music and video and they do fantastic work. Think about this analogy: do novelists use blue or black ink when working out ideas? The output of work is important, not the tool.

Apple Computers, Ableton, Propellerheads, Digidesign, Bias-inc., Access, Waldorf, E-mu, Akai, Ensoniq, Lexicon, Boss/Roland, and Mackie.

I just took a job editing digital photos for a sporting goods company. I am going to have to work on a windows machine and am not looking forward to it.

I prefer the macintosh.

just curious, what software are you envious of on the PC that you can't get an equal or more powerful tool on the mac? with the accepting of games which do usually come out for the PC first and then the successful ones get ported, what pro apps and serious tools do you feel left out of by using a mac?

yes, there are more apps for PC then mac, but how many different homecoded FTP clients that are written as science projects do you need.

Audiomulch looks rather nifty, I must say.

And I've as of yet been unable to find a proper tracker.
