Personally, I'm not quite sure what people MEAN when they say al-Qaeda. I think it's a term like tarmac or hoover or tannoy (or iPod, apparently); it used to be a brand name, but now it just means 'Muslim fundamentalists'. The idea (and I feel this is the idea that's being pushed by Bush as well as Kerry) that there's a global moslem conspiracy (notice how every one seems to have 'connections to al-Qaeda'?) against 'our' values is just laughable when you've got 20 or more mosques for fifty odd thousand moslems (practising as well as non-practising) in Copenhagen (1.2 million citizens) alone cos somebody from Morocco won't pray with someone from Pakistan, and you're telling me they're all plotting to take over the world together? Seriously. That dog just don't hunt!

Fundamentalism of all sorts is always seen in periods of decline. This wave of Islamic fundamentalism is a relatively new thing, not more than twenty years old. Hell, a quarter of a century ago, Osama bin Laden was in Saville Row suits, clean shaven and peddling oil to the US! Many people who in the sixties and seventies subscribed to socialism or secular arabic nationalism are 'regressing' towards radical Islam, and many young people are more religious than their parents.

Another thing - while radical Islam (and I MUST PROTEST against the use of the word 'jihadist' - do you know what Jihad means?) is important to this, don't forget the power politics. Take al-Sadr in Iraq. He was all about armed resistance until he found out that he could gain more from coming to the negatiations table.

I could be more thoughtful about my post but the plain truth is that Bush is a powerful & dangerous fool....

That was kind of mean - i just watched the 27 greatest episodes of South Park and any and all information I get on other races / cultures comes directly from Eric Cartmans mouth

don't think that burning a less-than-satisfactory wife is something that Arab Muslims do, it's definitely a problem that continues to this day in parts of India, though.

Oh well if your an arab muslim and you burn your wife you probally have like 5 or 6 more so it dont really matter now does it Anyone from the U.S. seen these very large and obnoxious bush and chenney signs people are permitted to put in there yards they must be like 5foot x 3foot ?Ive been tryin to steel every one I see. As to multiple wives, I'm surprised Bush isn't for it - he seems to prefer the Old Testament to the New Testament

I love how they play with the recent news. Only a week or so after 9/11 they did a show thats was making fun of OBL. Looney-tunes-style

Since we're on the subject of being nice on the surface (I started it ) let's just hope Europeans catch a clue on personal hygiene and the importance of dental work, fuck nuclear weapons they could just scare the Middle East back to the Old testament with a mug shot.
