This is only true of a MINORITY of such music.
So ?
Quantity makes quality ?
I beg to differ.
I also think you're missing the whole point here as well. Its NOT about quantity, its simply about clueless people who claim that the quality of the (software) tools decide the quality of the music. And that is simply a - in my
very humble opinion - totally stupid remark.
its defently easier to play on a good guitar or good trumpet.. much easier.. wouldnt stop a good musican making nice tunes with bad guitar so, thats wright... but as i know they rather avoid that because its no fun

ShelUser, I think you're the one missing the point.
How many teenagers in their bedroom are making truly revolutionary music ??
Where did I say quantity makes quality ? Nowhere, friend.
Before yelling out, be sure you know what you're speaking about - instead of psychotic random outbursts.
You could have PM'ed me if you wanted to talk about this in more detail or check your understanding instead of yelling in the public forum.
Even the great Henke makes some statements which are questionable, this being one of them. I agree with the main body of his argument, but he is generalizing with that statement. If you wish to stick your tongue up his butt and lick his poopchute clean, that's your business.
I agree that software tools don't decide the quality of music - as someone who spent years learning sound engineering and music tech at university and 6 years as a tape op/tape editor and sound engineer in recording studios, I totally know that digital DAW software is NOT what determines quality.

Well, I personally also believe that there isn't much great music being made at present and a lot of derivative stuff tweaked a little and relabeled as something new. Dance music has always been a bit guilty of this, hence the ridiculous amounts of so called genres and sub genres, but it extends to all forms of music. There's only so many notes and chords and sounds out there.
And there is an over saturation of music, every man and his dog is a 'producer' these days. No-one is making truly original music (some think they are - but pound to a penny I can match it to something that came before as a single element, or multiple elements), some are just managing to use a wider source of material which is not quite so obvious. That's the best that can be hoped for.
Agree or disagree, whatever. My point is that very few 16 year olds are doing something that makes me go 'Wow.', as a ratio to the number of 16 year olds running music heavily based on presets and with poor arrangement/production/mixing. Maybe I'm missing something ?
