not really.
they're demo patches. hit n type live.grid to make a live.grid object. right click on it, hit help and a new patch opens up that you can play with, edit, copy, tweak etc. nothing is hidden or locked. it's not that complicated.
it's not a help file, there are hundreds of help patches. there's also the documentation which is a complete rundown of the object.
then there's the online documentation
http://cycling74.com/docs/max5/vignette ... intro.html
tons of information.

To me this kind of thing just solved many of my problems/wishes in Live: I can group tracks but still be able to use automap easily with those, I can have a snapshot button and also have more than 8 macros and morph between settings.
i hereby join the praise of cov ops
but dont see how you can use automap with the snapshot morpher, since automap defaults control morph/load/save etc.
is there a workaround? and is there an audio version
cheers

being that I don't know how to create complicated racks, reaktor ensembles, or program a max patch, I just wanted to add my perspective.

The parameter order of the device can be changed however you want in Max in the parameter list. Hoffman hasn't yet put out the audio version. Last I heard from him, he was finishing up the midi version I think, but that was about a month ago, or a few weeks. Not sure what he's up to, but I'm sure he's got plenty of distractions with all the M4L possibilities!
P.S. when I say automap I really mean ableton's instant mapping (for APC40 etc.) not novation's automap.

Yeah sorry about that. Things are busy round here, forgot to look into that audio version.
No promises this time, but its noted to be finished.

yeah, that's what i meant as well
it seems there's no way around it; i'll have to get into max (sigh), just don't want to end up like darren cowley and go months without producing (music that is).
anyway, thanks a lot, i'm crossing fingers for an audio version of snapshot morpher.

I was never that prolific in the first place and i've just found something i enjoy doing more....
Might actually end up with me producing my own stuff as i'm more dissillusioned with playing other peoples music than ever before....

Bjorn-
You mentioned that Clip Mapper can be controlled by Automap. How is this possible? Do you Automap-wrap the Clip Mapper plugin? I tried doing that but it doesn't show up in the list of Automappable plugs in the Plugin Manager.
Is this because I'm using the Demo version of Max for Live, or am I doing something wrong?

With Automap I mean Ableton's automap, not novation's.
This means you can control the first 8 parameters and need to shift a bank to the right to control the next 8. Not sure why it doesn't work, but I'm not familiar with the Automap software from Novation.

I just started using a Zero SL MK2. I can control the macro's in the Clip Mapper with Live's automap, as you called it. This works great, but it doesn't update the Zero's LCD display with any parameter names. I was wondering if using Novation Automap would solve this problem, but I don't seem to be able to create a Novation wrapped version of Clip Mapper.
It's always funny: just when you get something like Clip Mapper which allows you to solve a big problem, you wish it had just one little more tweak or function.

You can not use novations automap with live devices, including max for live devices. Only plug-ins.. Vst or au in live.

I wasn't sure whether Max for Live plugins would act like Ableton plugins or third party plugins. I should have realized just be looking at where they are stored in Live's browser.
I guess that's "total integration" for you.
I like the Novation Automap GUI, it makes editing things for the Zero pretty easy. But it's a lot of switching back and forth between Advanced mode and Automap mode when used with Live.
Maybe someday...Live 9?

by your logic anyone not interested new hobbies, is retarded.
it's not that i don't want to submerge into max world but after 15+ years, music is actually close to being my main income, and i want to keep it that way. also, i like very much to get drunk, weeded, play red dead redemption and do my girl now and then (not necessarily in that order), so prioritizing can be difficult.

agreed.
lose the videogames.
prioritizing can be difficult. I'm up to 200 miles a week on my bike and haven't opened m4L in months. there's a season for all things and we have the rest of our lives to explore music, wine, weed and women.
