there is a inconsistency in the tempo settings on warpmarkers that badly hot in my way on one occasion.. just cant remember or find my bug/report feature wish again..

however. the inconsistency is what tempo is shown on a warpwarker..

the tempo that is happening after that warp marker.. or the tempo that has happened up to this warp marker

its close to buggy behavior.. ... i remember taht this got badly i my way on alligning vocals and trying to keep as many parts as possible on original tempo..not an esoteric task..

but allmost impossible with the way tempos are displayed...

L 8.21 is doing wright now some real bullshit reading on tempo field of the warp sections..seems to have 2 refference points ( tempo elativ to what.. sequencer tempo or played clip tempo..) that get mixed..
cant analyze that in detail wright now.. bt it got in my way.. and its not nice implemented.. the old way of warpiing gave better results on the vocal alligning..

at least the tempo info should be consitent so that one can operate with in between markers while havig the vocal bits on original tempo.. so teh original tempo needs to be displayed or be able to etred at a defined position before or after the section ( better before of cause..) and not weardo style as now...

other inconsistency is the way grouptracks are displayed in arrange...

they dont have a titel bar.. and allways show theire interna..not only when expanded as the other clips..

and in session we also miss the ability to name the slots.. badly..

in reality you cant work with collapsed grouptracks.. the collapsing is just for hiding them totally away and having them muted.. or to be run with a dedicated controler wher you dont watch the screen anyway..

that is pretty halfbaked ad changing the design convention for arrange.

in session mode ther could be even full featured lauchclips for groups..maybe even with multirtrack edit ability.. that would be a nice future...

but for now they should have at least scene functionality and name ablity and titel bar and master colour feature in arrange as all the other clips..

thats the way L8 should have been delivered..

hrouptracjs with propper graphical representation. not the skeleton ghost style we have now..

distracting and castrating the potential of grouptracks as structuring arrange feature and overview maximizer..

capture and insert scene is not allways available anymore..

under certain conditions that option disappears what often eats unnecessary time.. can even happen that you loose a scene when doing it with key command without looking closely

capture and insert scene should be allways available because that is just what we might like to do in any mode of operation of the program...

you cant drag loop endpoints outside the inital samplerrange .. you have to do that with manual entry as number..


i dont know if this should be some kind of failproove feature again..
it defently dont helps really

there is a warp as 128 bar loop entry in the audio clip editor..

there is no use for that ..dont waste valuable screen space for nonsense or privat features

Exactly. (sorry wasnt too clear). Time as in min:secs somewhere in Session view toolbar.

If youre doing an hour long set for example, or recently ive done a couple of remixes that need to be 5 minutes or less, theres no way of seeing how long youve been playing. I did email ableton and they said basically use the arrangement view and see how many bars and beats 5 minutes is. But not any use if you change tempo.

its not about the daytime.. its about the time your track is running... can be important for theater use.. or in case they ever fix the timecode issue you might like to see your TC while being in session mode..

more preff sttings are needed
live has a pretty minimal prefference settings tab.. while this looks elegant and might have worked with the old looptool with its minimal feature set it really dont works together with a fullfeatured daw that even has a max intehration that interafears with the stability of other functionalitys..
extra pref sets could be used to keep the working surfyce clean..to avoid compromize algorythm and even might be able to remove parts of the program like the max inegration or bridge or rewire..
Pref tabs dont have to look good
Its a normal circumstance for any type of workstation to have lots of settings.
For a good reason..
The easiest solution and often best to keep the program easy to operate and functional for differnt workfows is user adjustability..

there's no such feature as 'warp as 128 bar loop'..

there's a feature called 'warp as xxx bar loop'..

may I suggest you first learn and understand all little details before you go ranting..

one thing i find a bit of a pain is that when im copying and pasting in arrange view, if i left click on the page to mark up the possition where i want to paste quite often when i right click to select paste the marker moves and makes me paste in the wrong place.

it seems that when i left click the marker snaps to the grid but when i right click it snaps again to the mouse pointers position.
