Yeah, but maybe I did. A little. Because the point I took you up on seemed to be basically telling people what they think. Which is one thing I can't stand for. It probably wasn't your intention though, so I'll let it go.

So back on the off topic tangent this thread has taken, I'll throw mine in as well.

Using scale for all the mental non traditional things these maniacs do with live is a tool not a crutch.

Using scale as a safety net when playing out because you're worried about hitting a bum note is acceptable. But yeah, you could call it a crutch.

Using scale because you just can't be arsed to learn, is less a crutch and more a mobility scooter for the obese. It will get you from a to b, but your situation won't improve unless you put a bit of effort in.

well said andydes, 92% anyway

i'll be sure to pepper all further opinions with plenty of imo!s and obvious disclaimers

now, i need to look into these other creative uses for scale, maybe someone should start a thread on it, won't that be fun? i promise to play nice

Showing your true colours there Stringtapper. Snobbery seems to be a recurring theme, here.

Your forays into The Lounge to try and show the world that you are not a stick in the mud elbow patch wearing elitist crusty academic don't fool anyone, you know. Comments like this reinforce what most of us have long ago deduced about you.

I'll say this again - if you are a real 'musician', please show us some of your 'interesting' music. And don't blame cperezz for your lack of confidence again. Wearing a bit thin, now.

If you can't do this simple thing, I'd suggest you drop the superiority angle as it is not very endearing. You know as well as we do that knowledge of musical theory does not equal interesting music. Why the denial?

You will feel much more at peace with yourself when you accept this. Trust me.

You can actually still hit bum notes in the sense that so many of the notes get repeated on the keyboard (leaving only the "correct" notes where they are normally - sometimes for up to 4 keys in a row. So you can get a lot of weird sounding reapeating notes if you are trying to play a lyrical or complex solo. Or even just playing chords if you only have a few trick formations up your sleeve like a lot of folks - you can end up with a couple of fingers playing the same note. It can mess you up as much as it can help.

It all depends on context and intent.

I would settle for just not playing dense and thick (which I dont think you actually are - you just play it up on here most likely). You dont have to play nice.

not playing anything, you'll have to trust that im equally stubborn in real life...dense or thick would apply to someone steadfastly wrong or ignorant, neither is a the case today

Oh, no. Touched a nerve again.

Lighten up, Professor. No need to shout.

Sure, no problem. It's one of three possibilities.

1) The things you imagine aren't very imaginative.
2) You don't actually imagine so many things.
3) You are imaginative, and your idea about chord and scale plugins doesn't hold up even in a practical sense for yourself.

Here's something neat to do with a scale plugin, since you asked:

But to pout around asking if people feel great about "letting you have it," because you were wrong, you've just got to be a gigantic douche bath.

that wasnt pouting, you flatter yourself in the insult department....quote me one phrase where i am 'playing the victim', careful not to stretch too far...

but, saw the vid, how does watching a dubspot vid count as you being so amazingly creative/imaginative coolcharacter? unless you are pat cupo (?), your just painting by numbers, and stretching...again
