Not sure Bill would agree with that, but I could possibly find out for you. I think Bill' more into choirs with his H17 project nowadays.

I like to think he'd think Tiesto was too po faced for their tastes. Stadium house was meant to be a piss take, not a model.
I mean in terms of his apparent following the Manual's instructions and making a big star of himself, not about his personality or the gash he plays. But if you can find out, it would be good to hear Bill's take on the state of things at the moment.

[goodness gracious, that comic has been around for about 10 years.]

i visit rarely nowadays, but here's the thing: and the thing which is, is the thing which is this:

A) You are a person interested in playing music. You find two other people of a similar mind and you get together, a drummer a bass player and a guitarist and one or more sings, you write your own songs (!) original songs (wow, talent). You practice in somebody's basement or garage and you use a keyboard amp for a PA because that's all you can afford you do this for many months. You play out, where you get to use a house system if you're lucky or you have to rent one if you're unlucky.

Your band sounds crappy, few people like it, and it may be many many months likely years before it sounds better.
---OR---
B) You are a person interested in playing music. You buy a mixer and a set of powered speakers (for substantially less than what it would cost to buy the equipment for a three piece band) and you put some prerecorded music on your iPad with some software that allows you to do stuff to it.

You sound good, as good as any other DJ operating on the same scale. Worst case, maybe some people don't like your choice of music and some do. Now, years ago, crowds would not respect choice "B". But at this point, it is not so.

This vexes peope, particularly people who made choice "A" (like me) and put a fair amount of effort into it.

plus, if you fail as a dj, you can play angry birds on your iPad. if you fail as a band, you can't play angry birds on disillusioned musicians.

Wow, you must be one tough son of a bitch. I shit myself worrying about what these guys might post about me. Sometimes I can't sleep at night if someone argues with me online. I was on a course of peroxatine for a little while after a particularly heated debate.
