relax ze2be, I don't really see how I'm flaming the thread down, I take issues with aspects of this thread because I don't think the poll questions are correct, so I don't think the thread is actually that helpful, but I've explained all this already. I don't think I need to say anything more, got other things to do. It isn't a vendetta BTW, I've been quite clear what it is.

Don't you write fader riding automation in mixing/mastering?

You don't buy Live to replace Pro Tools for whatever, they are designed for two very different tasks and both are used in a professional context. No piece of software is going to do everything, a professional would know this.

If you understood anything about the professional context we are talking about you wouldn't question my professionalism. "You don't buy Live to replace Pro tools" is so far off the discussion it's kinda incredible, maybe you should be reading this thread completely... this has absolutely nothing to do with anything Pro Tools would be doing, please get with the discussion.

BTW - the 'use another program' argument is so lazy and intellectually ignorant, I can't believe how often it is said. This problem has been created by the use of Ableton Live itself and why even bother having a discussion if you could just use another program, we're trying to make progress with Ableton, not with another program, I don't even know why I'm arguing this stuff, it's so rudimentary...

In mastering, pretty much never. For mixdowns or if I do need to do something like that in mastering I tend to use Logic instead since it has automation scaling.

Your argument is not convincing . You told that you almost never have a need to use automation but are actualy using it in 'Logic' not in Live. I'm not gonna fall for it.
